Upon arrival at the Wolfdog Sanctuary, visitors will be captivated by these intelligent and furry creatures. They will join the Introductory Tour to learn about the wolfdogs’ past and present homes, their journey to the sanctuary, and why it serves as an ideal refuge for them.
Enjoy an engaging presentation that reveals the mysteries of these majestic animals, offering a thorough introduction to their distinct traits and behaviors. This tour provides an exceptional “front row” viewing experience, enabling photography of the wolfdogs without any visual obstructions. Additionally, guests will have the opportunity to interact with a dedicated wolfdog expert, eager to answer questions and share intriguing insights.
- Foothills County - As visitors depart the sanctuary, the landscape unfolds into rolling hills and expansive ranchlands, with the Rockies gradually rising ahead like a promise. This area is renowned for its remarkable wild horse sightings — small herds grazing freely against the backdrop of the foothills, creating a scene that feels almost cinematic.
Heading west, the road meanders past the Tsu Tina community, where the prairies begin to narrow and the mountains draw nearer. The scenery subtly transforms — more pines, more rugged cliffs, and an unmistakable sense of entering the heart of the Rockies.
Occasionally, one might spot Rocky Mountain sheep, elk, and even the occasional bear wandering near the treeline. Soon, travelers will pass by Ghost Lake, where the water often reflects the sky and the wind creates long silver streaks across the surface.
It’s a serene, picturesque moment that naturally prompts reaching for a camera.
