Thank you Portugal! Thank you Hugo! - I would like to thank Hugo for everything he has done for us in Portugal. Despite the natural disaster that struck many parts of the country, he worked tirelessly to introduce us to his culture and beautiful places. We highly recommend his services. Amazing day trip - We had wonderful day trip with Hugo . He was very patient as we got delayed in the morning . He has a great sense of humor and took great care of us . Would highly recommend him for a day trip in his comfortable vehicle . The sights he showed us were amazing

Great day with Hugo in Sintra and area!! - We had a wonderful day with Hugo. He picked us up and dropped us off at our apartment. We went to sintra and cascais. Hugo was a great guide and shared wonderful information, both history and current throughout our day. Had a delicious lunch with a window seat by the ocean. His price was right on target. Would highly recommend using him if you are looking for a great day in Lisbon.

Amazing tour!! - Finally had time to come in here and let everyone who has been looking for tours out of Lisbon to definitely hire Hugo you will not regret it . We did two tours one to Sintra visited 3 places and the orher one to Fatima, Obiedos Nazareth. Hugo was vey professional and on time , He explained the history and had a great sense of humor . Definitely recommend him !!

Sintra full day tour! - My husband and I booked Hugo for two tours. He transferred us from Porto to Lisbon with stops, and then we booked him for a second day in Lisbon to see Sintra. As I mentioned in my previous post, Hugo seamlessly curates a great itinerary for us. He is charismatic and witty but has a very calming demeanour. We first visited the town of Sintra, again, with him buying us more sweet treats!! We had coffees and walked to be the first entry of the day at Quinta da Regaleira. After that, we toured the outside and gardens of Pena palace (based in Hugo's recommendation I'm glad we didn't go inside - what a gong show - the gardens was enough), third we visited Monserrate palace which was our personal favourites (it is small but very unique and the most quiet), and finally, Queluz which is on the way home from Lisbon and was also very quiet! All four palaces were stunning!!! Hugo made sure to get us back home with ample time to rest as we were going to a music festival in the evening that same day! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Hugo! And his prices and quality are definitely some of the best out there!

Fantastic Full Day Tour to Sintra & Cascais - We had a fantastic trip to Sintra, Cascais and Queluz Palace. Hugo is a fantastic guide. He was in touch with us from the moment we made the reservation and started to help us plan our itinerary well in advance. He told us what we should focus on and when buying tickets was advisable when it wasn’t. One of the things we really wanted to do was have lunch by the sea in Cascais. Due to some unexpected heavy traffic, that was in jeopardy. Hugo however, still made it happen. He was extremely knowledgeable about the sites we visited and Portuguese history in general. Hugo also made it more interesting by adding in some pop quiz questions here and there and he has a great sense of humour as well! He was very kind. He purchased some pastries in Sintra he wanted us to try and at our seaside lunch asked the wait staff to let us try some barnacles. We’re also grateful in that he saved us a huge amount of money on another very expensive day tour we had booked. It was a day tour to Porto from Lisbon.
He said we’d spend most of the day driving and see very little and be very rushed. So we cancelled it. I think that speaks volumes about the type of guide he is.
I’m conclusion, we had a great tour with Hugo and we highly recommend him for this tour.

Hugo Romano private tour to Sintra Pena Palace and National palace and Gardens of Quelez - Thank you Hugo we had a great time with you as our guide. You were kind, thoughtful and informative. Our tour around Sintra was ok but the highlight for us was visiting the Palace and Gardens of Quelez. Such a beautiful place and hardly anyone was there! After Sintra a real bonus.

A 2-day tour of historic sites with a most delightful driver/tour guide - We engaged Senhor Hugo Romano to guide us on a 2-day tour of some of the historic and notable sites of Portugal. Departing from Lisboa, our tour included the town of Sintra and its 14th century castle, the National Palace in Queluz, the Sactuary of Our Lady of Fátima and the houses of the three young shepherds who witnessed the Marian apparition in 1917, the castle and churches inside the medieval walled village of Óbidos, and the beach and fort of Nazaré.
Along the way Sr. Hugo provided us with a wealth of historical facts, legends and myths, presented in a humorous and thought-provoking manner. As is typical of the Portuguese, his pride of his country and its importance in history showed through. And as a bonus, a little foray into some gastronomical delights; who knew barnacles were so delicious?
Sr. Hugo was an absolute delight—friendly, polite, enthusiastic and quite attentive. We would highly recommend his services to anyone wishing to enjoy the rich and beautiful history of Portugal.

Hugo is an amazing guide - If you’re visiting Sintra, you need Hugo as your guide.
He’s smart, funny, and knows everything about the area—but what really makes him special is how well he reads people. He knew exactly what we wanted, changed things as needed, and made the whole day feel easy and fun.
We saw places we never would’ve found on our own, learned a ton, and laughed the whole time. Hugo turned a good tour into a great memory. Highly recommend!
