Great little day to the mountains - Nice little day trip to the Andes and Inca Lagoon. Alvaro was a great bilingual guide, and the tour had a nice flow. Very early wine tasting, but the wine was truly great and the snacks too! The lagoon is beautiful, the views to and from, lovely, and I would go again :).

Tour Guide Pablo Made It Worthwhile! - I recently took a tour to the Inca Lagoon in Chile, and while the lagoon itself didn’t quite live up to the hype, the journey there was anything but dull—thanks to our incredible guide, Pablo. From the start, Pablo brought energy and a wealth of knowledge that kept us engaged throughout. One of the highlights was an unexpected stop at a local winery for a tasting session. Turns out, Pablo used to work in the wine industry, and his insider stories and tips added a whole new layer to the experience. It felt less like a tourist stop and more like a behind-the-scenes peek into Chilean wine culture. Even though the destination wasn’t the most breathtaking, Pablo’s charisma and storytelling made the entire trip memorable. If you’re booking this tour, go for the guide—not the lagoon. Pablo gets a well-deserved 5 stars from me!

Read so you know what you are really getting - I went on this tour hoping to experience the beauty of the Andes mountains, but unfortunately, the day didn’t quite live up to expectations. The tour started with a long and uncomfortable bus ride. Three hours were spent picking up and dropping off other passengers, and since we were the first pick-up, that meant a very early start. We also made a 20-minute stop at a petrol station before we even got going, which felt like a waste of time. What was especially disappointing was the fact that the tour was quite expensive compared to others I’ve seen, which included lunch and were half the price. The itinerary seemed to promise more than it delivered, and for what we paid, I expected a more structured and enriching experience. The wine tasting, for example, was conducted by the bus guide at a vineyard, but it wasn’t an official tasting from the vineyard itself, which felt a bit off. While the tasting was pleasant enough, it wasn’t the immersive experience I was hoping for. We then had a brief visit to see llamas for about 20 minutes before heading up the winding “snail road” to Lake Inca. The lake itself was stunning, and we had a decent amount of time there (about 1.5 hours) to relax and have lunch at the only available restaurant, which was fine but felt somewhat limiting. After lunch, we drove back down and had a quick photo stop at the road’s edge for a scenic view, but this didn’t feel like a true highlight. The final stretch of the journey was a long drive back to Santiago, with us leaving the last stop at 2:30 PM and getting back to the hotel just before 6:15 PM. Overall, the logistics of the tour felt a bit off. We almost decided to leave the tour at the petrol station due to overcrowding and the cramped bus, but we were informed we'd only get a 50% refund if we did, so we decided to stay. In hindsight, I don’t think it was the right decision, but at least we didn’t lose out on more money. That said, our guide and driver were friendly and professional, and they certainly weren’t to blame for the issues we encountered. I’d recommend looking into other options if you're seeking a more immersive experience or better value for money.
