- Model of a Finial from Cologne Cathedral, in Original Size. - Initially, visitors at Station 1 receive an overview map detailing the various construction phases of the cathedral. Following this, they are transported via a virtual image into a 360° painting from around 1300. This painting captures the moment when the bishop and the master cathedral builder are in the atrium of the old cathedral, which had been on the same site since 870. The cathedral was completed many centuries later as the Cologne Cathedral.

Roncalliplatz - At Station 2, visitors find themselves on Roncalli Square, looking through VR glasses into the year 1520. They are immersed in the everyday market activities of the time while observing the cathedral’s construction site during the Renaissance period, just before construction halted for three hundred years. The construction crane is already perched atop the South Tower, a landmark of the city for centuries.
At Station 3, visitors view the cathedral from nearly the same perspective and in a similar construction state, but approximately 300 years later. Since 1815, the Prussians have been in Cologne, initiating significant infrastructure projects. In 1842, the Emperor himself, as the protector of this prestigious building, invites guests for the ceremonial second laying of the cathedral’s foundation stone. Visitors find themselves amidst the celebrations. The Cologne Cathedral was completed in 1880 as a German national symbol. - Domherrenfriedhof - At Station 4, at the Domherrenfriedhof, visitors see a still young cathedral around 1926. It not only showcases the magnificent Cologne before World War II but also reveals why the cathedral has its dark color, as they observe the main train station where a steam locomotive is currently arriving. Its black smoke drifts towards the cathedral.
- Cologne Central Station - Experience the bustling traffic on the station forecourt, including cars and trams, before a wailing siren transitions to the next VR scene. The animated beauty of the 1920s is gone. The time journey continues to the same location in 1945, surrounded by a landscape of rubble. The once splendid Wilhelmine Central Station is heavily damaged, recognizable only by its basic structure and characteristic entrance portal.
- Domplatte - On the way to the final stop, visitors learn about the challenging post-war years and the city’s reconstruction. Cologne Cathedral was also severely affected, but as a symbol of the Kölsche Hätz, it always provided hope for better times. Finally, visitors return to the dome plate. At Station 6, they find themselves amidst the daily crowds around the cathedral, discovering how it became the symbol of the city of Cologne and attracts millions of visitors from around the world each year.
