- Model of a Finial from Cologne Cathedral, Life-Sized. - At Station 1, visitors receive an overview map detailing the various construction phases of the cathedral. Following this, they are transported into a 360° painting from around 1300. This artwork captures the moment when the bishop and the master cathedral builder are in the atrium of the old cathedral, which had been on the same site since 870. The cathedral was completed many centuries later as the Cologne Cathedral.

Roncalliplatz - At Station 2, visitors stand on Roncalli Square and, through VR glasses, are taken back to the year 1520. They find themselves amidst the bustling market activities of the time, observing the cathedral’s construction site during the Renaissance period, just before construction halts for three hundred years. Atop the South Tower, the construction crane is already in place, a city landmark for centuries.
At Station 3, visitors view the cathedral from nearly the same perspective and in a similar construction state, but about 300 years later. Since 1815, the Prussians have been in Cologne, initiating significant infrastructure projects. In 1842, the Emperor himself invites guests to the ceremonial second laying of the cathedral’s foundation stone, as the protector of this prestigious building. Visitors find themselves amidst the celebrations. The Cologne Cathedral was completed in 1880 as a German national symbol. - Domherrenfriedhof - At Station 4, at the Domherrenfriedhof, visitors see the relatively young cathedral around 1926. It not only showcases the magnificent Cologne before World War II but also reveals why the cathedral has its dark color, as they observe the main train station where a steam locomotive is arriving. Its black smoke drifts towards the cathedral.
- Cologne Central Station - Experience the bustling traffic on the station forecourt, including cars and trams, until a wailing siren transitions to the next VR scene. The animated beauty of the 1920s fades away. The journey through time reveals the same location in 1945, surrounded by a landscape of rubble. The once splendid Wilhelmine Central Station is heavily damaged, recognizable only by its basic structure and characteristic entrance portal.
- Domplatte - On the way to the final stop, visitors learn about the challenging post-war years and the city’s reconstruction. Cologne Cathedral, though severely affected, remained a symbol of hope for better times. Finally, back at the dome plate, Station 6 immerses visitors in the daily crowds around the cathedral, illustrating how it became the symbol of Cologne and attracts millions of visitors worldwide each year.
