Negombo Beach - After breakfast, explore Negombo City, visiting the fish market, observing fish drying on the beach, and exploring the Dutch fort and Dutch Canal.

(The canal, stretching from Hendala to Pamunugama, was constructed by the Portuguese in the 17th century. It served as a supply route during the Dutch administration and is still in use today. Spanning 100 kilometers, it runs through the town and was vital for the Dutch administration, along with the old churches and fishing villages during Dutch rule.)

Damro Labookellie Tea Centre and Tea Garden - Explore a tea factory and plantation to see how the world-famous “Ceylon Tea” is produced. In 1824, a tea plant was brought to Ceylon by the British from China and planted in the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya for non-commercial purposes. James Taylor, a British citizen, introduced commercial tea plantations in Sri Lanka (Ceylon). He arrived in Sri Lanka in 1852 and settled in Loolecondera estate in Kandy. Today, even those unfamiliar with Sri Lanka recognize Ceylon tea for its quality. Witness the tea-making process inside a factory and sample various teas.

NUWARA ELIYA

Nuwara Eliya - Nestled in the heart of tea country, Nuwara Eliya is a charming town where the British successfully recreated an English countryside, featuring homes in styles from Georgian to Queen Anne.
