  The tale of the Constanta Casino mirrors the fate of many of Romania’s magnificent yet neglected historical landmarks. This remarkable example of Art Nouveau architecture from the early 20th century once stood as the emblem of Romania’s primary port, Constanta, on the Black Sea coast.
  No other structure captures the essence of the Belle Epoque in Constanta as perfectly as the Casino building. Constructed in the early 1900s at the behest of Romania’s first King, Carol I, it was inaugurated in 1910. Until World War II, it served as the main seaside gathering spot for affluent tourists who enjoyed gambling. The Casino’s foundations were altered three times based on the visions of architects Daniel Renard and Petre Antonescu.
  This eclectic architectural masterpiece features numerous marine-inspired decorations, including its almost dreamlike shell windows facing the Black Sea.
• Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul - The Orthodox Cathedral “Holy Apostles Peter and Paul” is a revered place of worship in Constanța, situated in the city’s peninsular area, below Ovidiu Square, opposite the Tomis Archdiocese building. Its monumental architecture dominates the entire southern cliff area of the city. The foundation stone was laid on September 4, 1883, during the tenure of Metropolitan Iosif Gheorghian. The church was consecrated on May 22, 1895. The building plans were crafted by the renowned architect Alexandru Orăscu [1], with Carol Beniș serving as the director of works. Henri Guaracino was the contractor for the project. Surrounding the cathedral is a park featuring an archaeological complex with elements from the ancient city of Tomis.
• Carol I Mosque - The Grand Mosque of Constanța is located on the site of the former Mahmudia Mosque (Geamia Mahmudia), constructed in 1822 by Hafız Hüsseyin Pașa and named after Ottoman Sultan Mahmud II. Commissioned in 1910 by Romanian King Carol I, construction of the Grand Mosque began on June 24, 1910, with the first cornerstone laid in the presence of Spiru Haret, then Romanian Minister of Religious Affairs; Sefa Bey, then Ottoman ambassador in Bucharest; and the Ottoman consul in Constanța. The project was funded by the Romanian Government and entrepreneur Ion Neculcea, and completed in 1912.
  The mosque was officially inaugurated by Carol I on May 31, 1913. During the ceremony, Sultan Mehmed V awarded the Order of the Medjidie to chief architect Victor Ștefănescu.
• Ovidiu Square - Formerly known as Independence Square, Ovidiu Square, where the town hall (now the National Museum of History and Archaeology) is located, is steeped in history.
  Towards the end of the 19th century, Ovidiu Square was characterized by two-level houses closely packed together, resembling a medieval inner courtyard, with roof tiles and wrought iron balconies. The square was bustling with shops, cafes, summer gardens, and more.
  In 1879, efforts began to align the buildings. By the last decade of the 19th century, the eastern front (facing the sea) was completed. Architects designed it to shield the square from the winds. In front of the Ovid statue were three buildings that combined Baroque decorations with Art Nouveau elements. This area housed the Elite Hotel, a restaurant, a coffee shop, and the Cinema Palace. In 1910, the building that now houses the National Bank of Romania was constructed in Romanian style.
• Tomis Tourist Harbor - The Touristic Harbor of Tomis is one of Constanta’s most renowned spots for both tourists and locals. Regardless of the season, Tomis Harbor is a popular choice for those wishing to admire the sea by car or on foot along the seafront. Access to the harbor is easy via a street that descends to the bay’s edge, where luxury yachts and sailing boats are moored. Visitors can enjoy waterfront terraces and numerous chic restaurants serving fish dishes. In summer, the bay of Tomis Harbor is often visited by dolphins, attracted by the beautiful water fountain in the center or by tourists strolling along the shore. Besides being a place for relaxation, Tomis Harbor is ideal for organizing water sports activities. Local authorities plan to transform Tomis Harbor into a key destination for coastal sailing ships along the Romanian coast, with stops south to Eforie Costinești.

• Plaja 3 Papuci - Located in the Faleza Nord area of Constanța, Plaja 3 Papuci is a favored beach destination known for its expansive layout and family-friendly environment. The beach stretches approximately 1 km in length and is bordered by protective breakwaters, creating calm waters perfect for swimming and various water sports.
