Constanta - Constanta is the oldest city in Romania, established in 657 BC as a Greek colony named Tomis. The Romans later conquered these Greek settlements and renamed the city Constantiana, in honor of the sister of Roman Emperor Constantine the Great. Today, Constanta is the largest port on the Black Sea and the fourth largest commercial port in Europe. In the Old Town, visitors can explore: The Museum of History & Archaeology, The Roman Edifice with mosaic (the largest mosaic from the Roman Empire), the statue of Publius Ovidius Naso, The Muslim Mosque built by Romania’s first king, Carol I, as a tribute to the local Muslim community (climbing the Minaret Tower offers a splendid panoramic view of Constanta), The Orthodox Cathedral dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul (a monument of Byzantine architectural style), The Aquarium Constanta, the first public aquarium in Romania, and the Genoese lighthouse, originally built in the 13th century and reconstructed in its current form between 1858-1860.
Tulcea - Known as “The gate of the Danube Delta,” Tulcea is situated on seven hills. Its ancient Greek name was Aegyssus, dating back to the 8th century B.C., and it was later conquered by the Roman Empire. After a stroll along the harbor promenade, guests will enjoy dinner and accommodation.
