Malmohuset is one of Malmo’s oldest structures. The current Malmohus was constructed in the 1530s, and between 1568 and 1573, it served as the prison for James Hepburn, the third husband of Mary Queen of Scots. The Malmo Art Museum and Malmo Natural History Museum are located at Malmohuset. The Malmo Art Museum features a collection of 20th-century works, including pieces by Swedish landscape painter Carl Frederik Hill. There is also an exhibition of furniture spanning from the 16th century to the present day. Please note that the entrance fee to Malmohuset is not included in your tour ticket.
- Lund Cathedral - Lund
Visitors can explore Lund Cathedral, consecrated in 1145, although a cathedral has existed on this site since the 1080s. The astronomical clock was installed around 1424. The towers of Lund Cathedral rise 55 meters or 177 feet tall, and when constructed, they were visible from the surrounding countryside. The oldest bell dates back to 1513. The cathedral houses five organs, the largest of which was built between 1932 and 1934 by the Danish company ‘Marcussen & Søn’. In 2016, Pope Francis visited the Cathedral to commemorate the 499th anniversary of the Reformation. This attraction is included in your excursion ticket.
Lund University, with roots tracing back to 1425 when Franciscan monks established the Studium Generale near Lund Cathedral, is also worth visiting. Founded on the same site in 1666, it is the oldest higher education institution in Scandinavia. Adjacent to the University is the charming Lundagård Park, where the Lund University Historical Museum is located. The entrance fee to this museum is not included in your excursion ticket.
Behind Lundagård is Kulturen, Sweden’s second oldest open-air museum. Kulturen features 30 historic buildings from various centuries. At Sankt Annegatan 9, a shop is stocked as it would have been 100 years ago. Some of Kulturen’s buildings have been relocated from other parts of Sweden, while others remain on their original sites. Kulturen opened in 1892 and showcases buildings or remnants from the Middle Ages to the 1930s. The entrance fee for this museum is not included in your tour ticket.

- Jakriborg - Jakriborg’s architectural style features a network of intricate, maze-like streets and passageways. It does not align with the traditional styles of northern Scandinavia or the functionalism prevalent in much of 20th-century Europe. Instead, it draws inspiration from pre-industrial town architecture found in the coastal regions of the southern Baltic and the North Sea, between Flanders and Tallinn, with the old Hansa City of Lübeck being the most notable example.
- HSB Turning Torso - The Turning Torso is a skyscraper in Malmö, Sweden, designed by Santiago Calatrava and constructed between 2001 and 2005. It is the tallest building in Scandinavia and the second tallest residential building in Europe, with the Triumphal Palace in Moscow being the tallest. The tower is visible from the Danish side of the Sound in clear weather.
The tower comprises 54 floors and stands at a height of 190 meters. Its design is based on a sculpture by Calatrava called Twisting Torso. The tower’s structure is divided into nine cubes, each containing five floors. The upper cube is rotated 90 degrees clockwise relative to the ground floor. Each floor consists of a rectangular section surrounding a central core, along with a triangular section partially supported by an external steel skeleton. The lower two cubes house office spaces, while the upper six cubes accommodate 147 apartments.
- Little Square - Just southwest of Stortorget in central Malmö, you’ll find the charming Lilla Torg, featuring cafes and restaurants surrounded by half-timbered houses from the 17th and 18th centuries.
