Amazing Place and Views - An amazing place not just for the surroundings and the views but for the quality of the tour and the wines as well as the tour and other products for sale. Alonso, our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and he definitely has a sense of BELONGING at Copey Estate. He is so proud of the place and its products and it comes through when conducting the tour and the tasting. Highly highly recommend a visit to this winery, incredible views and great products. Must try the Gold Rush.

An Awesome Wine Experience in Costa Rica - Yes, there is a winery in Costa Rica and we thoroghly enjoyed our expereince there. The tour was very informative as to how they are raising grapes in Costa Rica and also utilizing the Golden Berry (Uchuva) to make liqour & other items such as dried Uchuva and jams. The wine tasting was great and included wines from vineyards in California and Israel that are also owned by the same individual! HIghly recommend this tour and tasting!

Top experience in Copey - This wine tour and tasting exceeded expectations. The story of how the vineyard came to be is amazing. The tour gives in depth explanations of the process getting from plant to wine culminating with the tastings and pairings. Plus, the area is breath taking and the tasting room gorgeous.

A brilliant surprise where I had least expected it - I had no idea that there was a winery in Costa Rica. I had no idea that anyone had made a liqueur from golden berries. The Copey Estate Winery educated me on both counts in a glorious way. The tour of the facilities and the vineyards is highly educational for many reasons. The most obvious one was a demonstration of how one can grow wine grapes in such an unusual environment, especially when the seasons are not as well-defined as other more typical wine-growing regions. How they are able to not only grow but harvest grapes year-round is a stroke of genius. All that on top of the uchuva liqueur that they produce and I was sold. The tasting itself covers the full estate, including the liqueur both at room temperature and chilled, but especially wines from Copey and the other estate locations in California and Israel. All of the wines and spirits are notably excellent, but the best of the lot was the Syrah from the Copey vineyards themselves. The food pairings are inspired choices, both pairing well with the drinks and reflecting local heritage. If you are anywhere near the San Jose area in Costa Rica, this trip is easily worth your time and effort.
