Over the centuries, this ancient town was buried under layers of silt and vegetation. Recently, archaeologists have uncovered some of the best-preserved town remains in the Mediterranean. The Venetian Tower near the entrance, the ancient theatre, the Temple of Asclepius, the ancient gymnasium, the Roman Baths, the Roman Baptistery with its invaluable mosaic floor, the Lion Gate, and the massive Cyclopean walls will transport visitors back in time from 2500 years ago to the 3rd century.
