As a seasoned traveler and culinary enthusiast, I have had the pleasure of experiencing many cooking classes across Europe, but the Puglia Cooking Class in Corigliano d’Otranto was truly something special. Nestled in the heart of Puglia, this charming village is a mere 15-minute drive from Lecce, yet it feels worlds away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Upon arrival, my wife and I were greeted by the delightful Enza and her husband Antonio, along with their friendly dog, Jambo. Their villa, surrounded by olive trees, exuded a rustic charm that immediately set the tone for an authentic Italian experience.

The class began with a delightful aperitif by the pool, where we were treated to a charcuterie board featuring local dips and ingredients sourced directly from Enza’s garden. The rosé flowed freely as we mingled with fellow participants, a diverse group of twelve, each eager to embark on this culinary journey. The atmosphere was convivial, yet intimate, allowing for personal connections to form as we shared stories and laughter under the warm Italian sun.
