Highlight of our Cornwall visit - We did the kayak tour with James as a family. He has responded very well to the children and to the participants, remembered the names of all. The tour itself was exciting, a great adventure. Although we had a few waves and drove through narrow, dark caves, I felt safe all the time. Many thanks to the team and James for the opportunity to explore the stunning English coast this way and learn a few more stories about smugglers’ dens and local fishing. What you should know: you really get completely wet, especially the shoes, because you walk a few steps through the knee-high water.

Sea kayak experience - James was brilliant, such a friendly chap, knowledgeable about the area and generally a nice guy Based on our experience we will be back again !!

Super fun kayak experience with Amy. - Well organized with great facilities at the starting place. Clear instructions given in advance, good protective equipment. Amy made it a very nice trip along the coastline with a visit to cave, explanation of history and at the end fun games. Highly recommended!

A fun tour of the local coastline - We had a great time Kayaking around some of the local coastline with James and the rest of the group and even saw a few friendly seals! Appreciated the clear and friendly instruction and information on some of the local landmarks

10/10 company and instructor - James our instructor was amazing! Really great company, safe and knowledgeable it was an absolute pleasure spending time on the water with him!

Highly recommend - We were originally booked on for kayaking but got transferred to a beginners surfers lesson due to the weather and waves. Our teacher, Ellie, was fantastic. We had a good hour and twenty minutes in the sea. It was a small group so we had lots of 1 to 1 help. Highly recommend.

Exciting and enjoyable - An amazing experience, you were able to experience the beautiful scenery of Newquay and its wildlife up close whilst enjoying time with friends. I would definitely come back again and bring more people! The staff member that looked after us made everyone feel comfortable and safe gave a wonderful tour of the area

Very Professional Team - My husband & I were gifted a Virgin Experience voucher from my son. We agreed on a sea kayaking adventure as, not having done it before, I was willing to give it a go, although my husband had previous sea kayaking, rivers, & canal rowing experience. The initial online booking was seamless and easy and we received informative, helpful emails throughout until the day of our adventure. We arrived to a very warm welcome from Dan [at least I think his name was Dan but I may be wrong - sorry!], who made us feel at ease. We were told what would happen & were shown to our respective communal changing rooms - one for females and one for males. It was reassuring to have a one-sex changing room although for the very busy season, I personally thought it needed to be twice the size as almost all of the open storage cubes were in use as was all the bench space & hooks. When I entered the changing room there were already about 6-7 females changing so the small space was extremely warm and without adequate ventilation. I appreciate we're only in there for 10 minutes but it would be really great to have more changing space. There is a single toilet and basin incorporated in both male & female changing rooms. Whilst there aren't any individual lockers for valuables, there are multi-use lockers of which the staff hold onto the keys. Your possessions are put into an individual tray which corresponds with the outdoor locker number. We were kitted out with wet suits, wet boots, helmets, life jackets & paddles & were given clear instructions how to fit the helmets & life jackets. Our group of 4 had James as our instructor who was extremely professional, personable, reassuring and informative. I told James I was anxious as I'm not confident in deep water [but I wanted to try to overcome my fear] & he reassured me. James guided us down the very steep, rocky descent to the tiny launch bay where our kayaks had been previously placed. James gave us our instructions and off we launched, into the surprisingly warm bay water [well, it wasn't as cold as I'd anticipated!]. James continued to instruct us before he led the group out around the bay. It was at this point that sadly, I had to retreat back to the beach as I suffered a panic attack - this, in spite of me being in perfect control of my kayak and James' expert & reassuring instruction, he couldn't have been more patient & helpful, offering to help me further to try to get me to stay to overcome my fear - thanks James but there was no going back for me by then so the rest of the group continued on without me. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his adventure and was so pleased they saw some seals at very close range and who seemed unperturbed by the onlooking humans! Overall, a very professional, friendly, & highly organised team. We are happy to recommend Newquay Activity Centre for beginners or those with some experience of sea activities.

No experience this time maybe in the future. - I received a call from a lovely gentleman named Jake/Jack on Sunday the 8th of June while I was airport. He explained that my tour for the following day wouldn't be the best conditions and would like to know if I could change the day to the Tuesday for a better experience. I was departing on Tuesday and wouldn't able to amend my travel. He said no worries we'll see you tomorrow. Safe flight. About 2 hours later I was in stages of boarding my flight when he called again and said sadly they would have to cancel my booking. But they would offer me a full refund and complimentary use of the wetsuits, body boards, etc if I was interested which was a lovely suggestion and good customer service. I agreed to the full refund and again he wished me a safe journey. It's been 5 business days since the phone call and I haven't received an email noting the refund just an email from TripAdvisor asking about my experience. Nothing has appeared in my account as well. Would like an update with regards to my refund.
