- Playa De Ajuy - Take a walk to the breathtaking Ajuy caves, the oldest formations in the Canary Islands.
These caves are part of Fuerteventura’s basal complex, formed by the submarine flow of lava and sediment that surfaced to create the island 100 million years ago during the Cretaceous period.
The rocks emerged from a depth of 3,000 meters, forming the foundation that now supports this island and Lanzarote.
The caves hold significant geological and paleontological importance and are among the 150 primary geological sites worldwide.
Visiting them offers a journey back in time to the origins of Fuerteventura and the Canary Islands.
Pierre:
• The walk to Ajuy caves is a prime example of nature’s wonders.

If time permits, a visit to this charming church will be included.
- Mirador de las Penitas - Another fantastic panoramic view on this day trip.
From the Las Peñitas viewpoint in Betancuria, enjoy a captivating view of a green oasis amidst the desert.
An underground river, created by human intervention, flows beneath the Las Peñitas ravine, forming a small lake surrounded by native plants. The open esplanade of the viewpoint is ideal for capturing quality photos.
This area is home to local chipmunks.
- Mirador De Vallebron - A region of significant landscape value.
The protected landscape of Vallebrón is situated between La Oliva and Puerto del Rosario in northern Fuerteventura. It is a geomorphological feature representative of the island, with great landscape value.
Covering nearly 1,680 hectares, it accounts for 3.5% of the island’s protected area. Vallebrón is characterized by an elongated ridge with a knife-shaped relief, flanked by two large U-shaped ravines, Valle Largo and Valle Chico.
The southernmost point of the ridge aligns with Montaña de la Muda, a site of historical interest due to an archaeological site. To the southwest lies Tindaya, bordered by Montaña Quemada to the south and Montaña de Tindaya to the north.
- Mirador Sicasumbre - The Sicasumbre Viewpoint, located approximately 300 meters above sea level, is one of the island’s premier stargazing locations.
The area’s beauty is complemented by the facilities at the viewpoint, including informative signage and mounts for cameras and telescopes.
Pierre notes: A stunning panoramic viewpoint on clear, cloud-free days.
