Pajara - Pájara, feminine pájaro, means a small bird, a sparrow. In the Andalusian dialect, pájara, especially refers to the partridge; Andalusian settlers discovered many gray partridges in the Barranco de Pájara and named the place accordingly. A bird, possibly a partridge, is at the center of Pájara’s shield.
In colloquial language, pájara also means “fickle woman” today.
We also have the Church of the Virgin de la Regla in the center of the agricultural village, with plenty of limestone and an interesting history.
