• Parque Nacional Volcán Arenal - Part of the trail around the Arenal Volcano features patches of regenerating forest that were originally affected by ancient eruptions. With a little luck, this 1.5 km (1 mi) trail will provide us with the opportunity to see a wide variety of plants and birds that inhabit the rainforest, like toucans, turkeys, orioles and sometimes peccaries and snakes. At the end of the tour our driver will be waiting for us with a delicious snack of tropical fruit before returning to your hotel in La Fortuna.

The tour commences with a journey to the El Silencio Private Reserve, aiming to get as near to the volcano’s base as possible by vehicle. Following this, participants will embark on a walk of about 1.5 kilometers along a volcanic stone path, which presents a moderate challenge, until reaching the viewpoint. This is the closest accessible point to the volcano. At the viewpoint, the guide will share insightful information about the Arenal Volcano’s formation, its active periods, and exclusive details of its initial eruption in 1968. Additionally, participants can admire the stunning views of the Green Lagoon and Lake Arenal. Upon the guide’s instruction, the group will begin the descent back.
