The journey kicks off at the private farm, La Naciente, just a short distance from La Fortuna’s center. Here, participants embark on muddy trails through the primary rainforest, experiencing Costa Rican culture while taking in stunning views of the magnificent Arenal Volcano.
The adventure begins with a safety briefing and a practice circuit to ensure everyone is comfortable with the ATVs. Then, the group ventures onto the thrilling trails of La Naciente, navigating challenging paths surrounded by lush greenery and local wildlife. Along the route, there is a stop at Quebrada Platanillo, a micro-basin of the Arenal River that provides water to nearby communities. This is also an opportunity to see the impressive Watusi bulls, known for their unique horns.
The next stop is the charming village of La Guaria, which preserves the “fortuneños” culture. Here, participants explore its church and the old local store (pulpería), offering insight into life in rural communities.
