This is a relatively small preserve, encompassing 205 acres (83 hectares). It features approximately 3.25 miles (5.2 km) of trails that traverse a section of the property. The reserve is located at some of the highest elevations in Monteverde, ranging from 4,750 to 5,300 feet (1,450 to 1,615 meters).

This is a relatively small preserve, encompassing 205 acres (83 hectares). It features approximately 3.25 miles (5.2 km) of trails that traverse a section of the property. The reserve is located at some of the highest elevations in Monteverde, ranging from 4,750 to 5,300 feet (1,450 to 1,615 meters).
The land is evenly split between primary and secondary forest. This variety of habitats creates an ideal environment for birdwatching, with around 250 bird species identified in the reserve, including hummingbirds, sparrows, redstarts, finches, toucans, the resplendent quetzal, the three-wattled bellbird, and more.
The tour typically lasts 1.5 hours.
