Wonderful time - 100% recommend - Wonderful experience, our guide was great to listen to and talk to, he was bilingual in Spanish and English, had a huge amount of knowledge about the wildlife, the ecosystems, the Monteverde Cloud Forest and many other things. Our experience was very interactive too and our guide was flexible and could answer all our questions in addition to giving us a wonderful tour. We saw the quetzal, monkeys, tarantula, and many other species, including plants and trees. Would 100% recommend to all including families, and adults, but also for younger people. Definitely a must do!

Deeply Knowledgeable Local Guide - Deyber was a last minute booking for us, and we completely lucked out by getting him as our guide. He was absolutely excellent! A deeply knowledgeable local, Deyber found us sightings of the elusive Quetzal away from the other guide groups, along with other lovely birds and animals. He had so many interesting facts about the trees and the wildlife, I could've listened to him talk about the forest all day! Highly recommend 👍👍 Thanks again Deyber!

Having a guide in... - Having a guide in Monteverde Cloud Forest allows you to appreciate all the animals and plants that the average visitor would miss without an experienced and eagle-eyed guide. We saw the Quetzal, some monkeys, hummingbirds, bats, an Anole, and many orchids along the way. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the cloud forest, its preservation/research in the area, and the animals and plants that create its biodiversity. I will note that there were many guides doing tours when we were there in the afternoon so it was pretty busy. I suggest doing a morning tour if possible as the animals will likely be more mobile and thus visible in the morning. Additionally, please budget 20-30 minutes to get there early if you are driving, as you will have to park down below and take a bus shuttle that only runs every 20 minutes or so. It is a rain forest, so bring waterproof boots.

Highly recommend, without guilde you won't see anything. - We had a wonderful time with our guide, D Gonzalez. He is very knowledgeable. He told us about the history of the Mounteverde Cloud National Park. He tried his best to look for the animals that live in the nature. We are luck to see the resplendent quetzal, howler monkeys and more other animals. He is also very kind and helpful. When I had trouble to take a good pictures, he helped me so I have those valuable memories. We are happy to have him as our guide. Thank you very much, Mr D, Gonzalez.

Great Tour/Learned A Lot - Was not originally meant to have a tour by this guide but very happy I did! He was very knowledgeable on many things and I learned a lot of this guided hike. He was also kind enough to give me a ride up/down to the entrance because I didn’t want to add to the parking congestion for just one person. The tour was with a total of 3 guests. He said he limits his tours to 8 people which makes it very nice and intimate. We were able to see a lot of wildlife that I would not have been able to identify by myself (spider monkeys, various birds, agouti, wild boar, and more). Highly recommend!

Great tour of monteverde cloud forest - Had an excellent guide, Deybar, who had great knowledge of the eco system of the Cloud Forest. We learnt a lot, saw lots of animals and birds including the quetzal, tarantula and sloth. Even our teenagers loved it.

Do it! - My wife and I had an amazing tour with Loandry, we cannot say enough good things about him! We had a small group (just us and another couple), which was perfect. Loandry had immense knowledge of the wildlife and also the history of the park and town. He was usually just as excited as us whenever spotting an animal. 10/10 recommend doing this tour; it has been our favorite “activity” so far in Costa Rica! We saw many of the animals we wanted to see, and also learned a lot about the plants.

A great experience and an interesting and knowledgeable guide. - Had an amazing day with Roy as our guide. He was very enthusiastic about the forest and it's inhabitants. The tour was about 2.5 hours and was full of information. There are quite a few different trails so if you are maybe not as able, the guide can chose routes that would be easier for you if you make it clear. We had five in our group, plus the guide. We saw lots of wildlife, learned about the forest and a few types of tree and plant. Take your own bino's so you can look at creatures you've located, but the guides all carry high magnification scopes on tripods and sight the animal for you to look at. They use everyone's mobiles to capture pictures through the scope.
