Roy did an excellent job... - Roy did an excellent job of showing us the cloud forest. We saw spider monkeys at play, various birds, including an owl, and the Quetzal, which is a rare find. We learned a lot.

Very good - We had a wonderful experience with Roy's Tours. We are a family of 3 and had a private tour with Mr. Roy the first day at Curicancha, but unfortunately I got sick before the tour and couldn't go. Mr. Roy took my family on a tour and provided an excellent one. He is very professional, knowledgeable, and kind. My son is very fond of nature, birds, and animals. Mr. Roy took extra time to ensure he could learn and see all the birds and wildlife that were present during the tour. We decided to take a second tour with his group the next day at the cloud forest and did the heart of the forest trail (this time we had his brother, who shared the same qualities) and had a wonderful experience. He was very patient and knew the area/nesting places very well. They have a lot of respect for nature, their culture, and conservation efforts. We learned a lot during the tour. We were able to see the quetzal that day—which was the highlight of the second day! Amazing tour. will definitely go again in our next visit to the area

Fernando was an excellent... - Fernando was an excellent guide. We had a couple of mishaps with parking and timing but he was flexible and worked everything out for us. We were able to spot spider monkeys and plenty of other wildlife thanks to him!

Beautiful tour by Brian - We had a tour from Brian. He told me a lot about the animals and the park. We have seen many birds, even 2x a Quetzal and a tarantula. Without Brian, the experience of this circular walk would never have been so beautiful and we would never have seen these animals

Highly recommend Guided Nature Walk - Roy was an excellent guide, so knowledgeable and patient with all our questions. It was a great trek. We got to see a quetzal too!! We were a bit surprised by the need to purchase a separate preserve entry pass. This was not mentioned in the TripAdvisor description.

Roy, our guide, was... - Roy, our guide, was fantastic. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and spoke English very well. He took time to help the younger kids see and get photos of things. He looked diligently to find animals. We saw several things! It was a great idea to do the tour with a guide. We never would have seen all the animals we did. We did not see a Quetzal, but we saw a nest.

So-So - This was fine for a nice walk. Our guide was a bit low energy compared to the other guides we saw on the trail. Like many others who have left reviews, we did not see a whole lot. We do understand that this is no fault of the guide. It’s worth saying that we saw much more wildlife in La Fortuna. If we come back to Monteverde again, I’m quite sure that we would not visit this biological reserve again.
