Wonderful Day in Palo Verde National Park - My wife and I stopped at the Miravallies Tour store in Coco Beach and spoke with Marilyn about a couple of short tours and she recommended the Palo Verde National Park Tour and this was the best day we had. The driver Theo picked us up and our condo at 7:00AM and he was excellent, he had some funny jokes and we then picked up three other couples and headed for Palo Verde National Park. Along the way Theo stopped to have us look at some monkeys in a tree on the road, he pointed out sugar cane fields and Cantalope, and the Del monte plantation. The road was very rough but Theo was very entertaining and made the drive pleasant. The boat driver was Ceasar and he made sure to stop long enough to take plenty of pictures of the crockodiles, many birds and some white faced monkeys eating berries in a tree, we hovered under the tree and got exceptionally close. After to wonderful boat tour we ended up at Palo Verde Restaurant and the owner was very gracious and the meal the made was authentic and five star, my wife had fish and i had the chicken and it was excellent, thank you to the owners for making this a great lunch. They had a demonstration on making fresh corn tortillas, which we had with the lunch. After a pleasant ice cream/sorbert desert we had a demonstration from Jose from Guaitil Pottery and family business in Chorotegas. All the clay was made form the earth, and including the colours for the pottery finishing, all tools were hand made and it was one of the most informative demonstrations I have seen. He was so passionate and the products he made were authentic. Finally on the way back to the condo, Theo had stopped to show us a cashew tree that was so interesting as the tree produces two things a fruit which locals love along with the seed, which is the cashew nut that we all know. Theo also stopped to pick up a head of romane lettuce, which is said was the flowers for his wife at valentines, but he was joking, he was funny, but really it turned out to be some food to feed the Iguanas at the local park in the small town of Philadelphia. I would like to thank Marilyn for talking us into the tour and she had many more to choose from, Theo the van tour driver, Ceasar the bot tour driver, the Palo verde restaurant owners, cooks and Jose the pottery maker. The tour was one of the best we have taken in the many countries we have vacationaed at and highly recommend speaking with Marilyn at Miravalles Tours on Main Steet in Coco Beach Costa Rica. We will definately be back for more tours.

Many thanks!!! - We had a great experience on the Palo Verde boat tour day trip! We saw over 25 different species of birds, mammals, and reptiles including howler monkeys, iguanas, and crocodiles. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. Our driver and boat captain did a fantastic job at driving and navigation. It was a very safe experience. We enjoyed our traditional Costa Rican lunch and coffee and the pottery experience. Overall, would recommend this tour for other groups interested in wildlife and learning about Costa Rican culture.

- Awesome tour! We saw lots of crocodiles and white faced monkeys among other native animals. This tour was unlike other boat tours that we have done because we got to see the animals close up. The lunch and pottery demonstration was an added bonus. Michael our driver was great. Gabriel our tour guide went above and beyond. He truly is the best tour guide we have had in Costa Rica! Highly recommend!

Overpriced - we would not recommend this tour based on value - The tour was OK. There were fewer birds than we expected, but that can happen with wildlife. Having experienced it, we note that the price we paid for this was significantly more expensive that any of the other tours that we took while in Costa Rica. It offered relatively poor value and since there are so many other excellent tour options available, we would not recommend this tour based on value.
