Nestled within the transitional rainforests of Costa Rica, the hiking trail offers a stunning display of beautiful gardens and lush vegetation, including bromeliads, mosses, lichens, orchids, and heliconias. Through dedicated efforts, a sanctuary has been created for birds and animals such as hummingbirds, toucans, sloths, frogs, lizards, and mammals like two-toed and three-toed sloths, monkeys, skunks, and bats. Amphibians like the red-eyed frog, dart frogs, and toads also thrive here. The hike lasts approximately one hour and is guided by local experts.
At the start, there will be an informative session on the history and culture of cocoa and coffee planting, including grafting, tree development, and harvesting processes. Participants will have the opportunity to peel cocoa beans, grind them, and enjoy a natural cocoa-coffee cup with snacks. The tour lasts about one hour.
A traditional Costa Rican lunch is provided at the same location.
Afterward, a 45-minute drive leads to a waterfall where visitors can swim for around 40 minutes. The walk to the waterfall is 200 meters down a concrete staircase. The waterfall has a 10-meter drop and is 6 meters wide. Visitors are advised to bring towels, extra clothes, swimsuits, raingear, and cash.
