First time surfing lesson - Jossue was an amazing instructor who never gave up on me! He was side by side and rode on the surf board to help me get my balance. If this is your first time trying surfing , as it was mine, this is the place to take the lessons. All the staff was great , attentive, and they have fresh fruit and amazing banana bread for snacks!

Amazing!! - Amazing, amazing, amazing!! Josue was so patient, knowledgeable and had us up on our boards in no time!! My husband and I had never been surfing and this couldn’t have been a more perfect experience. Chris took amazing pictures for us that will last a lifetime. After a brief lesson on the sand, we were in the water and up on our boards. After the first hour, we took a break for some cold water and pineapple that they graciously provided. The second hour we were able to fine tune our new skills and catch plenty of waves. Can’t thank them enough for a perfect experience 💙 Pura Vida!

Surf lessons - The surf lessons were amazing! Jossue was very knowledgeable and had our group surfing right away. We had never been surfing before and we were all up on our boards and surfing on the first waves.

Jonathan was an AMAZING instructor!! - Jonathan was AMAZING!!! My lesson far exceeded my expectations! He was great with technique but also really made me feel comfortable on my board, thought me how to feel the waves, what to look for; he was absolutely amazing!! I would highly recommend lessons with Shaka Surf!! BEST EXPERIENCE!

A wonderful experience!! - We had a great experience with Josua! He provided our group professional surf guiding for a solid week. He was always on time, prepared and enthusiastic. He provided great surfboards and amazing drone footage. We are already planning our return trip with him!

Great time at the beach. - My family spent 3 days of our vacation at Playa Hermosa. Jossue and Chris took good care of us. We rented chairs from them and they kept us refreshed with cold drinks and fresh fruits. Super nice guys!!

Professional Surf Instructors - Excellent instruction from the professional teachers. Safety is first, fun follows. My daughter and her family had so much fun. This experience was the highlight of their vacation. Such a beautiful location. Thanks so much to South Surf Costa Rica. Pura Vida!

Best surf experience in Costa Rica - The guys were super easy going from the beginning to the end. I texted the night before and they found me a spot the next day in the afternoon. I had zero experience and our coach was very helpful through the whole process. We had a quick break with water and fruits provided to us and we even got drones footage for free at the end of the day. From other experiences I've heard of these guys are by far the best deal you'll get in Costa Rica. Would recommend 100% to anyone looking for a fun and simple experience.

Best Place for Surf Lessons - These guys are just fantastic! Came by without a reservation and no problem to get my 13-year daughter a lesson. They were so kind and spent extra time teaching her to turn. They took a break and provided the class with a fresh Pineapple and cold water. It's so laid back and relaxing. They only take cash and we were a few dollars short. No problem for them. They take pride in the beach which is the best in the area. Boards are new and rentals are very affordable. They know how to make you feel welcome and relaxed. Great job South Surf Reno!
