San Jose - Cartago - Turrialba - Pacuare River

Province of Cartago - The journey begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in San José, heading towards Cartago, the country’s first capital. After navigating through the heart of this province, the route passes through the towns of Paraíso, Cervantes, Juan Viñas, and Turrialba, known as Costa Rica’s rafting capital. This approximately 2.5-hour journey includes a traditional breakfast before embarking on the thrilling class III and IV rapids adventure.

Turrialba - As you travel through the province, you’ll pass through Paraíso, Cervantes, Juan Viñas, and Turrialba, the renowned rafting hub of Costa Rica. The journey, lasting about 2.5 hours, features a typical breakfast before the excitement of tackling class III and IV rapids begins.

Our team will greet you at Finca La Cruz, where a riverside safety briefing will be provided before you embark on the first day’s 6-mile adventure on the Pacuare River.

Pacuare River - Lunch will be served buffet-style on the riverbank or at the camp. Upon arrival at the camp, you can explore the forest’s wonders on a guided walk lasting approximately 1.5 hours, immersing yourself in the flora and fauna of the Pacuare.

Pacuare River - In the evening, enjoy a pre-dinner Happy Hour by candlelight. A couple of drinks and appetizers will prepare your palate for a delightful menu and wine, concluding the first day of your Pacuare journey.

Pacuare River - San Jose

Pacuare River - On the second day, awaken to the soothing sounds of the river and savor a fresh cup of coffee with breakfast. After breakfast, prepare for the final stretch of the river; more excitement and fun await.

The tour includes a buffet lunch on the river, 5 hours of river adventure, a river guide, transportation back to San Jose with a guide, rafting equipment, and a safety kayak.

San Jose - At the conclusion, you’ll have the opportunity to change before returning to San Jose, where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel around 6:00 pm. Items to bring: shorts, bathing suit, cap, sunscreen, water shoes or tennis shoes, two complete sets of clothing, and a towel.

DAY 1
After picking you up early in the morning at your hotel in San José we head to the first capital of the country, Cartago. Typical breakfast before starting the adventure of class III and IV rapids.
Lunch will be on the river bank or at the camp, buffet style before arriving at the camp where you can explore the treasures of the forest.
In the evening, enjoy a pre-dinner Happy Hour by candlelight. A couple of drinks and ‘mouths’ should open your palate for the delicious menu and glasses of wine with which you will close the first day of your trip through the Pacuare.

DAY 2
On the second day, wake up to the song of the river and a delicious fresh coffee that will be waiting for you with breakfast.

At the end you will be able to change before heading back to San Jose where we will return you to your hotel in San Jose around 6:00 pm.
