- Monument to Oscar Wilde - In Merrion Square Park, visitors can see the statue of Oscar Wilde. The celebrated writer, poet, and playwright is depicted reclining on a rock, gazing towards the house where he and his family once lived. In the park, there will be performances of his poetry set to music, as well as poetry by his mother, Lady Jane Wilde, also known as ‘Speranza.’

The Poetry Stroll offers an exploration of James Joyce’s Dublin through the mediums of poetry and music, using the artist’s own paths as a guide through the city. Although Joyce is primarily celebrated as a writer, he was also a singer and poet, and it is through this perspective that his world is revealed: Dublin at the dawn of the twentieth century.
As participants traverse the streets and visit the locations that influenced him, the stroll illuminates Joyce’s artistic ambitions, creative journey, and the places he later immortalized in works such as Dubliners, A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, and Ulysses.
