This trail ride was the worst I’ve ever been on, and I’ve been on countless rides. I hope you don’t take this personally, but there’s some things you may want to consider improving on. Helmets should be offered for all riders. I know not many people will wear them, but I would have enjoyed the added security. For a rider to fall off because the girth wasn’t tight enough is careless. Especially since it was the second ride and should have been cinched tighter already before the first ride. Nikki in no way should be a trail horse at her training level. For an experienced rider to be unable to control her for a simple trail ride is crazy to me. I’ve never been on a trail ride that I genuinely couldn’t wait to get off the horse. If the lead line horse can’t be trusted to stay still once the rider gets off, and the second horse can’t be stopped, the lead line rider should never get off that horse on the trail (let alone get off multiple times). Also, you may want to start asking riders if they’re comfortable trotting before starting, and then separate them in 2 groups if people don’t want to trot. If the lead line horse can’t be controlled to not trot up hills during a ride, it shouldn’t be on a trail ride. The views were okay but couldn’t be enjoyed due being on edge trying to control a horse that shouldn’t have been on the trail in the first place. I’m in no way an expert, but I genuinely hope y’all change some things before somebody actually gets hurt.
