Follow the in water guides on a short drive to the docks where there is plenty of parking. This manatee adventure is by boat on the spring fed waters of Crystal River where sea-sickness is never an issue. Experience the manatee water world either by snorkel or as a boat rider. Fun for the whole family. After returning to the docks follow the guides back to American Pro Diving Center to return gear, change into dry clothes, shop for souvenirs and watch your trip on the big screen TV. Great memories last a lifetime!

Snorkelers are outfitted with wet suits, masks, snorkels and fins to encounter the plentiful resident manatees. Our pool-side guides, called Dive-masters, ensure a fun and safe interaction between manatees and humans. It’s better to go at low... - It’s better to go at low tide (am?). We couldn’t get to 3 sisters spring because the tide was too high, so we had to snorkel in murky water and couldn’t see the manatees as well.

Excellent experience!! - Abby and Aidan are excellent captains/guides! They are extremely knowledgeable and capably answered all our questions on many topics, including details about the behavior and physiology of manatees, ecology and history of the bay, local real estate, and much more. They were very accommodating of our interests and sensitive to the needs of our young children. They have insider knowledge about the area, one as a lifetime resident, which we particularly appreciated. We had three generations of family on our tour and everyone had a great time, was thoroughly entertained and learned so much about manatees and other creatures of the bay. Thank you both for a wonderful experience.

Amazing tour with wonderful, knowledgeable guides - We had a wonderful time with our tour guides Aidan and Ryan. They had a ton of fun facts while we went to the first spot, where we were helped into the water and found a manatee within 5 minutes. We were all able to see and be near her. We spent time here then went to another location via boat where on the way they gave us hot beverages. We had a scenic way over to the most beautiful clear blue water, where we snorkeled again and saw cool fish and hung out. The temperature was amazing and we saw another manatee here as well. Our tour guides also took pictures of us the whole time. Overall it was a very good experience and I highly recommend it.

Great tour - It was a really nice experience. The tour guys were really nice and competent. They were respectful and were keen to make the tour as Manatee friendly as possible. We needed a bit of time to find some Manatees. Unfortunately, the weather was kinda bad the day before, resulting in a bit of muddy water, so it was not so clear. But these are always things they can't influence, which is something to be aware of. However, it was a really nice tour and they did a great job. The store was also nice.

Manatees have 4% body fat! - The guides were personable and knowledgeable. They worked hard to make sure everyone got to see manatees up close and personal, despite less than ideal conditions.

Outstanding Dive Shop - We went to American Pro Dive center this past week for a refresher/guided tour. We haven't been diving in over 20 years. This place has the most amazing staff. When greeted by TJ at the front desk, I explained my plans to restart our diving adventures. He said he's got it - no problems.... He was right!!! We selected a mult-dive package. A snorkle with manitees, drift dive at Rainbow River, and 2 tank dives at Manitee Springs. We started at 7am with Abbie and Rodney for the manitee snorkeling trip. The weather and water is warming up so manitees are kind of scarce this week, but they found some. As we floated around, the manitees would swim up and brush against me. It was great, way above my expectations. Rodney is missed his calling as a comedian - he had us laughing most of the trip and Abbie is a manitee whisperer. After lunch we met up at the dive shop for the Rainbow River drift dive. We met Aiden and Orville. We rode with them to Rainbow River, we signed in to the park with Orville, and Aiden got the boat ready. We got on the boat, suited up and Orville gave the dive briefing. We rode upstream, and we jumped in. I was a bit nervous from being so long since our last dive, but Orville reassured me it's like riding a bike... he was right.! The drift was like flying without wings. The next day we met Orville at the shop for our trip to Manitee Springs. When we got there we walked over to the "Catfish hotel", which looked like a big bowl of pea soup. To our surprise, the view was amazing once we penitrated the duck weed. The sun coming through was a sight I'll never forget. We moved over to the main spring and swam with the fish and turtles and drifted in the currents. When we got back, my wife and I agreed this has been an amazing vacation so far.
I highly recommend American Pro Diving for any water related activity. These people treat you like family and honestly put you at ease the minute you meet them. They are very professional and knowledgeable and make sure tbat everyone feels comfortable. Orville's experience, personality and demeanor will enhance any lack of confidence you may have.
We will definitely be back for more trips with them.
