This three-hour river safari by boat starts at the Kings Bay Manatee Refuge and takes participants on a relaxing cruise to the Gulf of Mexico and back. The journey includes detours through some of the river’s tributaries in search of the diverse wildlife inhabiting the area. The tour passes by the Crystal River Archaeological site, where visitors can view the remnants of a temple mound once visited by Native Americans from as far away as Central America. As the boat winds down the river towards the Gulf, keep an eye out for manatees, dolphins, eagles, ospreys, alligators, shorebirds, and many other creatures that call the Nature Coast home.
The guide will highlight the fascinating flora and fauna, so have your camera ready. Bottled water is provided, and participants are welcome to bring their own snacks and beverages. This three-hour safari is limited to just six participants, ensuring ample space for everyone to relax, and the boat is covered for comfort.
