1 SW 1st Pl - Charters will depart from Pete’s Pier and journey through the Crystal River to a location in the gulf known as “The Scallop Grounds” (approximately a 30-40 minute boat ride). Upon arrival at the first spot, guests will be equipped with a mask, snorkel, fins, and a scallop bag, all included with the charter. Once geared up, guests will snorkel along the surface, peering into the seagrass to spot scallops.
Upon spotting a scallop, guests will dive down, collect it, place it in their scallop bag, and continue the process! An in-water guide is included with the charter to assist those new to snorkeling or scalloping. The guide will share tips and tricks for locating and catching scallops. This activity is best described as an underwater Easter egg hunt!
In Citrus County, the scallop limit is up to 2 gallons per person or 10 gallons per vessel, so the aim is to reach your limit! Two separate coolers will be on board, stocked with ice—one for scallops and another for food and drinks. Feel free to bring lunch, snacks, and beverages.
At the end of the charter, the group will return to Pete’s Pier.

Our charters feature a fully equipped 26ft tritoon with ample space, a fully covered bimini top to keep everyone cool and shaded, and a knowledgeable guide on every trip to assist with snorkeling, scalloping, and even capturing photos! Morning and afternoon charters are available from July 1st to September 24th. Scallop season is brief and fills up quickly, so reserve your spot while you can!
