Day trip to Cajas national park, Cuenca - The trip was very informative- you will be trekking at altitude so be aware of the strong uv. Sunscreen hat and water are essential. Sturdy boots, layered clothes and a small rucksack. It was about 3 hours but tailored to guests ability and desire. We visited 3 separate climates and altitudes the highest 4200m. The main trek at 3800m. We stopped for a great lunch as part of the deal and then visited the lower part of the valley. Diego our guide was excellent in every aspect.

Fantastic experience from start to finish - Highly recommend this tour! Our guide Diego was super friendly and explained so many interesting things along the way – we learned a lot and felt very well taken care of. The nature was absolutely beautiful, and the whole tour was perfectly organized. The lunch was also really delicious and a great addition to the day. We had an amazing time and would definitely do it again!

Perfect Tour of a Breathtaking Place - Excellent tour of the national park! Our terrific tour guide (Pedro) was not only experienced in navigating the park but also had lots of great information about the natural environment. I would say the tour is best for hikers with medium level of fitness/experience - there are some steeper hills and rock scrambles but nothing unmanageable. The lunch add-on is definitely worth it. A lot of good food at a traditional Ecuadorian restaurant. The park itself is absolutely stunning - towering mountains, chilly lakes, marshes, forests, and out of this world fauna. Truly unmissable if you’re traveling in Ecuador.

With me 61 years this was in of the most beautiful hikes of my life! - What a beautiful hike! 3 and a half hours through the most beautiful nature! Very rewarding. Our guide Moises was fantastically friendly with lots of knowledge of the flora and fauna. My son J. studies biology and Moises and he had the most beautiful conversations about nature. Everything was perfectly arranged.

A great way to see some of Ecuador’s numerous microclimates and fantastic views. - Our guide Xavier had an impressive knowledge of the plant and bird life in the park. Wonderful scenic views of the mountains and the many lakes from over 4000 meters elevation. We opted for the one hour hike due to our lack of conditioning for the more strenuous two hour hike, but it was nevertheless rich with views and biodiversity.

Cajas trekking - Moises was a great guide and good companion. He clearly has a love of his job which is infectious. He was also good to converse with about life in Ecuador having worked in New York.
