The English Lake District has recently been added to UNESCO’s World Heritage List. Enjoy the picturesque countryside and rugged hills while listening to your guide share insights about the Lake District’s history, geology, and the people who have influenced this beloved area.
During the journey, you will encounter some of the region’s most breathtaking sights, including the Borrowdale Valley, Buttermere, Honister Pass, and Grasmere. There are numerous stops along the way, with a highlight being the Castlerigg Stone Circle, offering stunning panoramic views. The friendly driver/guide will provide engaging commentary throughout this full-day tour of lakes and mountains.
- Children must be over the age of 5 to travel on this tour
- There will be a designated lunch stop where you’ll be able to purchase lunch
- There are toilet stops on route
- Minimal walking is involved
- Our vehicles are not currently wheelchair accessible
- Luggage storage is available at the Windermere Information departure location
- Seats cannot be reserved
- Each passenger must have their own seat
- Please note, the tour starts from Windermere Information Centre @ 9.25am. It is not possible to be collected from a different location once chosen. If you are not at the correct pick up location and miss the tour, we cannot offer alternative arrangements.
- Due to a landslide, Kirkstone pass is currently unpassable. Therefore until further notice you will not visit Brotherswater or Ullswater on your tour. Our incredible driver guides will instead take you off the beaten track to a few other fabulous Lake District sites and lakes.

An amazing day with Steve!! - We did this tour on Thursday 15th Jan with the lovely Steve. He picked us up exactly on time from our hotel and i knew as soon as we stepped on that bus we were in for a good day. Steve is highly knowledgeable on the local area, has great stories and is very funny and quick witted, we had great banter with him. I have never met anyone who loves their job as much as Steve, he is so proud of the Lake District and takes great pride in showing it off. The tour was amazing, I never realised how beautiful or vast the Lakes are. Lovely stop offs to grab drinks and Keswick for some lunch. I cannot recommend this enough, it was truly a magical day.

A totally fabulous day! - What a totally fabulous day! A wonderful way to have an overview of the Lakes and go places where you wouldn’t have the courage to drive your car! All of this was enhanced by our driver, Steve, who regaled us with interesting facts, local stories and history and all interlaced with childhood memories and experiences in the Lakes! It was a full day, great value and comfortable transport. I would throughly recommend any of these tours to those visiting the Lakes!

10 Lakes Tour - Experience Day, Dec. 23
It was a tour of 10 lakes. Unfortunately, compared to a cold, cloudy and sunny day,
I'd say the view was halved, but my guide Tim's detailed and handy guide covered it more than enough. I'm not very good at English, but it was easy to understand. He seemed to be teaching himself Japanese and taught me the ropes of language study. It was a friendly and convenient guide, and I was able to get around efficiently. Thank you very much.

Aussie visit 10 Lake Spectacular - Tony our driver was excellent. The road conditions were a challenge but he did a great job.
My Australian family were delighted with everything and we would definitely recommend the tour.

Brilliant 10 Lakes Tour! - My wife and I joined the 10 Lakes Spectacular and it truly was just that - Spectacular! We got lucky with a beautiful crispy cold winters day that just highlighted the incredible natural beauty of the Lake District. Mark H was the perfect driver guide with incredible knowledge of the Lake District, its history and prominent figures, he brought the tour to life.
I would highly recommend Mountain Goat and we'll definitely use them again when we return.

A couple looking for a new experience - Tim our tour guide was amazing, full of knowledge and his love for the lakes has definitely rubbed off on us. The tour was 5star and we were given tips for other visits which we managed to achieve.
Massive shout out to Tim and the team for making our time away so special xxx

Can’t go wrong with Tim! - We just finished our tour with Tim and it was a most lovely experience. Tim has been a very funny, engaging, knowledgeable and caring tour guide for us and everyone else on the bus. Tim also went out of his way to take great pictures for us and even showed us a few hidden spots. The trip was very relaxing and educational, and we were lucky to have a punctual bunch with no traffic 🫡
Highly recommend for anyone!

Best Lake district tour - It was an amazing trip. Our guide, Tim, was very knowledgeable and kept us entertained throughout the whole tour. We were shown some of the most beautiful sights and Tim was very happy to take pictures and videos for everyone. He even prepared some ginger bread from a local store in advance as he knew it would be closed on that day. I cannot recommend this tour any more, this is 100% worth every penny and it was an unforgettable memory.

Fantastic full day lake trip - Peter the Driver/Guide was fantastic from start to finish. Very informative commentary throughout and very helpful and clear communication around pick up times etc. lovely guy!!
