The English Lake District has recently been added to UNESCO’s World Heritage List. Enjoy the picturesque countryside and rugged hills while listening to your guide share insights about the Lake District’s history, geology, and the people who have influenced this beloved area.
During the journey, you will encounter some of the region’s most breathtaking sights, including the Borrowdale Valley, Buttermere, Honister Pass, and Grasmere. There are numerous stops along the way, with a highlight being the Castlerigg Stone Circle, offering stunning panoramic views. The friendly driver/guide will provide engaging commentary throughout this full-day tour of lakes and mountains.
- Children must be over the age of 5 to travel on this tour
- There will be a designated lunch stop where you’ll be able to purchase lunch
- There are toilet stops on route
- Minimal walking is involved
- Our vehicles are not currently wheelchair accessible
- Luggage storage is available at the Windermere Information departure location
- Seats cannot be reserved
- Each passenger must have their own seat
- Please note, the tour starts from Windermere Information Centre @ 9.40am. It is not possible to be collected from a different location once chosen. If you are not at the correct pick up location and miss the tour, we cannot offer alternative arrangements.
- Due to a landslide, Kirkstone pass is currently unpassable. Therefore until further notice you will not visit Brotherswater or Ullswater on your tour. Our incredible driver guides will instead take you off the beaten track to a few other fabulous Lake District sites and lakes.

Wonderful Experience Despite the Rain! - Even though it was raining during our trip, my family and I truly enjoyed every moment. The Lake District was absolutely beautiful, and our tour guide, Peter, made the experience even better. He was so kind and knowledgeable — he showed us so many wonderful places and explained everything in such an interesting way. We really appreciated his enthusiasm and the stories he shared.
Thank you so much for such a lovely tour! We’re already planning to come back in March next year.

Great day out with a great guide - An amazing day out! We were ever so lucky to have Steve as our guide - he was sensational in his narration and storytelling. The great history of the lakes combined with his own anecdotes made the whole trip so much more interesting and interactive. One of the best tours of the lakes. Highly recommend!

Would do it all over again in a heartbeat - Incredible experience and Tony was fantastic as our guide. Would do it all over again in a heartbeat. The coach was comfortable and we got to see all the best views, land marks and must see villages / towns we might otherwise not have; whilst learning about its history. I was in awe the entire time.

Great day out - fantastic lovely day out with these guys. A whole day out for £40 around the Lake District..
Tony our driver was a lovely guy and very informative and gave us a running commentary on the history of the places we visited. The 16 seater mini bus was very spotless/modern with large windows giving you fantastic views of our journey.
The bus picked me up in Ambleside only meters away from my accommodation
Would I recommend these guys ? Yes, 10/10

Fantastic tour - exceeded expectations - LOVED it! - Fantastic, comprehensive overview of the Lakes District - highly recommend! Our guide, Peter F. was a very skilled driver on many narrow winding roads taking us to outstanding view areas! His historical knowledge and talking points added so much to the tour and his friendly demeanor set the tone for the group making it really comfortable for me as a solo traveler. Much appreciated!

Fabulous day out !! - Fabulous day! Despite the bad holiday traffic causing delays, and the fact that part of Kirkstone pass had been closed, Andy remained calm and patient! He was very knowledgeable and kept the information coming all day - don’t know how he did it. We had a great bunch of people, and even the weather behaved itself. Thank you for a great trip, would thoroughly recommend it.

Gorgeous views of mountains and lakes - I took Mountain Goat Full Day Tour: Ten Lakes Tour of the Lake District in September and loved it. Patrick was our tour guide. Even though I had been to the Lake District 2x prior to this trip, I never really saw it until I took this tour. I loved seeing the stones, and being up on the mountains. It was a fabulous day and a great tour. Patrick really knows the area and made the trip as enjoyable as the scenery.

Our Day in the Lakes - This was a most memorable day out! David, our driver and guide was brilliant! He gave us some lovely details along the route and was an excellent driver! He was friendly and efficient. This tour has been very carefully planned and everything went like clockwork! The bus trip, the ferry trip and train ride were just perfect and we had super weather. We also saw Tarn Hows which was beautiful. The Lakes were dressed to impress in their autumn best! All in all we would totally recommend a Mountain Goat trip! Thank you David and all concerned!

A really enjoyable day - We had a great day out. Our minibus was expertly handled, by Andy. The leather seats were comfortable and there were usb charging points. Not only did we see some beautiful scenery, Andy provided us with lots of local, historical knowledge.
