Aguas Calientes - Guests will be picked up from their hotel in Cusco early in the morning. They will then travel in private transport through the Sacred Valley of the Incas to the Ollantaytambo train station. Here, they will board the tourist train to the trailhead at Km.104.
The trailhead is named for its distance from Cusco on the route to Machu Picchu. This is where the full-day hike begins. A local expert will assist in crossing the control point where the hiking permit for the Inca Trail will be checked against the passport.
The hike starts with a gradual ascent to Winay Wayna, which means “forever young” in Quechua. After exploring the complex, there will be a lunch break at the campsite.
The journey continues with a hike to the Sun Gate, or Inti Punku, where the first view of the lost city of the Incas, Machu Picchu, can be enjoyed.
Afterward, a bus will take guests down to the town of Aguas Calientes, where they will be accommodated in an ensuite hotel room.

The 2-day Inca Trail tour to Machu Picchu offers a shorter and more accessible way to enjoy the highlights of the Classic 4-day Inca Trail. This journey allows participants to experience various microclimates as they descend from the Andes into the cloud forest.
The path is adorned with numerous Inca ruins, including the famous Wiñay Wayna. Participants will enter the Inca citadel, Machu Picchu, through the Sun Gate, just like those on the Classical Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.
This trail is perfect for families with young children, as it avoids high altitudes and camping. The highest elevation on the 2-day Inca Trail Tour is 2,650 meters above sea level.
Accommodation will be provided in a comfortable ensuite hotel room in Aguas Calientes town. On the following day, during the half-day trip to the Machu Picchu citadel, a guide will lead participants through the main attractions of the citadel.
