Challenging But Worth Every Step - This was the first time we have gone there.Experience was amazing. The hike was no joke. Even though it’s not super long, the altitude makes every step feel like a workout. But when you finally reach the viewpoint and see Vinicunca in all its rainbow glory? You forget your aching legs instantly. Doing the afternoon tour meant we avoided the freezing cold of early morning. And the golden light made for amazing photos.

🌈🌈 Magical Colors Without the Morning Crowds 🌈🌈 - I was a bit hesitant about doing the afternoon tour to Rainbow Mountain, but I’m so glad I did! The lighting in the late afternoon was perfect — the colors of the mountain looked more vivid than I expected, and best of all, there were barely any crowds. It felt like we had the mountain all to ourselves.

Beautiful but Tough – Take the Horse! - I'm not the fittest person, and the altitude hit me harder than I expected. Thankfully, I rented a horse halfway, and that saved the trip for me. The views from the top? Breathtaking. My partner hiked the whole way and loved the challenge. The afternoon sun brought out rich reds and purples in the mountain.

Magical Light and Fewer Crowds - I’m so glad I chose the afternoon tour! The lighting on the mountain was unreal—the colors looked like they were glowing. Best part? There were way fewer people compared to the morning rush. Our guide, Sonia, was patient and kept us motivated during the steep parts. Bring layers—it's warm going up but chilly at the top. Totally worth every step!

Highly Recommended for Families or First-Time Hikers - I did this tour with my teenage daughter, and it was the perfect introduction to high-altitude hiking. The afternoon timing gave us time to sleep in and acclimate better. The pace was easy to follow, and the guide was very attentive to everyone’s comfort level. We made it to the top without issue, and the view was incredible. What made it even more special was the quiet atmosphere. It felt safe, comfortable, and empowering—especially for my daughter, who was nervous about the climb.

A Magical Afternoon in the Andes - I was a bit skeptical about doing the hike in the afternoon, but it turned out to be a fantastic decision. Fewer people on the trail meant more time to soak in the views without the crowds. The light during the late afternoon made the colors of the mountain even more vivid. Our guide was informative and encouraging throughout the climb. Bring layers—it gets chilly fast as the sun dips!

Escursione a Rainbow Mountains e Red Valley - I participated in the excursion with at the Rainbow Mountains and the Red Valley with Andina Expeditions. The pickup was punctual before dawn in order to arrive at the destination before the hordes of tourists. Frank, the driver, was very attentive to driving both on the road and up the mountain. The guide with whom I did the hike, Carlos, was exceptional, provided various information about the whole mountainous area and answered every question. During the climb he was always interested in how I was doing and occasionally giving me some Florida Aqua to help me with my breathing. I recommend relying on Andina Expeditions for this excursion, specifically I recommend Frank and Carlos.

Best tour guides I think I've ever had - I have travelled a lot and never had such an awesome day out. Our guide, Anibal, and driver, Ronny, were exceptional. We made it to rainbow mountain which was a truly incredible place. Anibal had great energy, spoke perfect english, and helped me with some Spanish I'd been struggling on. Ronny's driving was super smooth, and kept us feeling comfortable and safe the whole time. There were a few obstacles given the challenges in the region when we were visiting, but at no point were there any issues these guys couldn't figure out, nor at any point did we feel concerned by anything, despite a lot of other tour operators not running. When we got to rainbow mountain we were one of only a couple of cars, and only 10's of tourists. It was unbelievable. If you want to go to rainbow mountain I would 110% recommend booking with these guys. Sam
