• Cusco - Day 1 | Cusco – Cloud Forest – Bambu Hostel
  Departure is scheduled between 5:30 and 6:00 a.m. from Cusco heading towards the jungle. A stop will be made in the delightful colonial village of Paucartambo, where a local breakfast will be enjoyed, and some of its living history will be explored.
  The journey continues across the Abra de Acjanaco (3,500 m above sea level), marking the official entrance to the Manu National Park. From this point, the descent into the mysterious cloud forest begins, a transitional ecosystem home to species like the rooster of the rocks (Peru’s national bird), quetzals, trogons, and wild orchids. A guided walk will allow for the observation of flora and fauna. In the afternoon, arrival at Bambu Hostel, an ecolodge nestled in lush nature, will be followed by dinner and rest.

• Kosnipata Valley - Day 2 | Bambu Hostel – Puerto Atalaya – Navigation – Hummingbird Hostel
  After breakfast, the journey continues by road to Puerto Atalaya, passing through coca plantations and tropical fruit areas. From there, a motorized boat will be taken to navigate the Alto Madre de Dios River, one of the major tributaries of the Amazon.
  During the trip, waterfowl such as herons and fishing martins may be observed, and with some luck, the majestic king of vultures. There is also the possibility of spotting alligators, turtles, and capybaras (the largest rodent in the world). Arrival at the Hummingbird Hostel, surrounded by primary jungle, will follow.

• Manu National Park - Day 3 | Hummingbird Hostel – Entrance to Reserved Area – Lake Brashco – Matsiguenka House
  Early in the morning, the journey continues sailing to the Manu Reserved Zone, one of the most protected areas globally. At the Limonal checkpoint, entrance will be recorded, and exploration of the Manu River will begin, where an incredible variety of species can be seen: taricaya turtles, black and white alligators, capybaras, monkeys, birds, and more.
  A visit to Cocha Brashco, a hidden lake ideal for observing giant otters and various monkey species, will be made. In the afternoon, arrival at Casa Matsiguenka, a hostel managed by a native community that shares its vision and respect for the jungle, will occur. In the evening, an optional night walk in search of nocturnal animals such as tarantulas, snakes, frogs, scorpions, and insects is available.

• Casa Matsiguenka Lodge - Day 4 | Casa Matsiguenka – Lake Salvador – Hostel Blanquillo
  After breakfast, exploration of Cocha Salvador, a tranquil lake where silent catamaran sailing will allow for watching giant otters, capuchin monkeys, and birds like hoatzines and Agamí herons, will take place.
  A walk through the primary forest, among giant trees like ceiba and ficus, listening to the sounds of the jungle and learning about the ecological interactions that sustain this vital ecosystem, will follow. In the afternoon, sailing to Albergue Blanquillo, surrounded by nature and perfect for rest, will occur.
  Optional: Night hike to continue exploring wildlife under the stars.

• Tambo Blanquillo Lodge - Day 5 | Macaw Shack – Piranha Fishing – Colorado Town
  Very early, a visit to the famous Collpa de Macamayos de Blanquillo, a vibrant display of color and sound where dozens of macaws, parrots, and parakeets gather to feed on the mineral-rich clay, will be made. It is one of the most remarkable phenomena in the Amazon.
  Then, a nearby lake will be visited for a fun piranha fishing session, guided by locals. In the afternoon, sailing to the Amazon town of Colorado, where the last night will be spent in a hostel with all amenities, will occur.

• Puerto Maldonado - Day 6 | Colorado – Puerto Maldonado – Flight to Cusco or Lima
  After breakfast, the return journey by land will begin. A journey of approximately 2 hours will lead to Puerto Carlos, where another mode of transport will be taken to reach Puerto Maldonado (approximately 2.5 additional hours). Lunch and farewell to the expedition team will follow.
  From the local airport, the return flight to Cusco or Lima, according to the itinerary, will be taken.
