Cusco - The journey begins early in the morning, between 5:30 and 6:00 a.m., with a convenient hotel pickup in a comfortable bus. Along the way, the group visits the Chullpas de Ninamarca, situated at 3750 meters above sea level, and makes a brief stop in the charming village of Paucartambo, renowned for its colonial bridge. The route then ascends to Acjanaco, the highest point at 4000 meters above sea level, before descending into the breathtaking cloud forest. This region is notable for its rich biodiversity, featuring orchids, heliconias, and ferns. A hike is taken to observe the mating ritual of the rooster of the rocks, with opportunities to spot trogons, quetzals, monkeys, and the spectacled bear. In the afternoon, the group arrives at the hostel in Pilcopata, 550 meters above sea level, equipped with private bathrooms and showers.

Parque Nacional del Manu - After a delightful breakfast, the journey continues along the impressive Madre de Dios River and the majestic Manu until reaching the hostel, located near the stunning Collpa de Macamayos. Upon arrival, a hike is undertaken to explore the various trails around the hostel, where the night will be spent. The hostel offers bathrooms for guests’ convenience. It is an ideal place to further immerse oneself in the beauty and tranquility of the Amazon rainforest while preparing to witness the unique spectacle of macaws at the collpa. This promises to be an unforgettable experience amidst the lush nature of the Manu.

BLANQUILLO (COLLPA OF COLORFUL MACAWS) - COLORADO - PUERTO MALDONADO

Tambo Blanquillo Lodge - Following a delicious and nutritious breakfast, the itinerary continues by boat to observe the spectacular Collpa de Macamayos Coloridos from a platform or a traditional catamaran of the area. An impressive display of a wide variety of birds in their natural habitat is enjoyed. The journey then proceeds by boat to Puerto Colorado, taking approximately 3 hours. From there, a vehicle transfer to Puerto Carlo is arranged, followed by another vehicle to Puerto Maldonado, where the night will be spent.

PUERTO MALDONADO - CUSCO

Puerto Maldonado - On the final day, after enjoying breakfast, a transfer to the bus station is arranged for the return to Cusco. The trip by local bus takes 8 hours (included in the program). The arrival time in Cusco depends on the bus schedule. At this point, if desired, a flight to Cusco (45 minutes) or Lima (2 hours) can be taken; however, the flight is not included in the program.
