- Cerro Colorado Vinicunca - The tour begins with a hotel pick-up around 8:00 AM, followed by a 3-hour minibus journey to the village of Hamchipacha. Upon arrival, a delightful buffet lunch will be served to energize participants for the adventure ahead. After lunch, there will be a practice session with the ATVs before driving them to Qochapampa, a trip lasting 1 to 1.5 hours. Along the way, there will be several stops for photos and videos until reaching Qochapampa.
- Qochamama - Post-lunch, the ATV ride to Qochapampa takes about 1 to 1.5 hours, with multiple stops to capture the stunning scenery. Upon reaching Qochapampa, participants will switch to local motorcycles to ascend to the mountain’s peak at 5000 meters (16,500 feet) above sea level, where they can enjoy the breathtaking views of the colorful mountain. After taking in the scenery, the group will return to Qochapampa by motorcycle and then ride the ATVs back to Hamchipacha, where hot drinks will be served before boarding the minibus.
- Cusco - From Qochapampa, the return journey to Hamchipacha will be on ATVs. Once there, participants can relax with hot drinks before taking the minibus back to Cusco. The return trip to Cusco takes approximately 3 hours.
- Humedal Lucre-Huacarpay - After about an hour of travel from Cusco, there will be a stop to admire the Huacarpay wetland, a RAMSAR site known for its diverse bird species endemic to Peru.
- Capilla Virgen Purificada de Canincunca - The tour includes a view of the impressive facade of this colonial temple, and along the way, the Urcos lagoon will be visible, which, according to myths, is connected to the Huacarpay wetland.
- Templo de la Virgen Inmaculada de Checacupe - The tour will also feature views of this temple and the colonial and Inca bridge of Checacupe as the journey continues.

The best way to see the... - The best way to see the mountains. Lunch was delicious and guide was amazing . The guide was puntual and organized.

Well worth it - This tour started out bumpy we had to reschedule for the following day because the driver did not pick up us the day of our tour. We were given and place and time but they never showed. Many of these tours change the time and meeting place several times and if you don’t have mobile WiFi, you won’t get the message. Travel Advisor should indicate that mobile WiFi is a requirement for all tours, otherwise, you will get irritated very quick.
Now for the good stuff. The tour was great and so was our guide! Prepare yourself for a serious elevation shift as you are going up another 3000’ if you are coming from Cusco. As long as you pace yourself and take breaks, you will be fine. I’m in decent shape but I’m 56 and definitely needed the ATV. I found food in Peru to be mostly medicinally, but this tour fed you breakfast and late lunch and it was some of the best food we had!

We had the peak to ourselves - Guide was kind. The ATV ride was cold at 4700m up to the peak. He offered me use of his gloves. He took a lot of photos of our group too.
We chose this tour because the pick up time was 830am instead of the insane pickup times at 3am or 4 am. The crowds had left by the time we were at the peak. No jostling or queueing up to take photos. Granted it was a bit off season, we had the entire mountain to ourselves at the peak.

The BEST way to see Rainbow Mountain - maximum fun, minimum trudge - This is definitely the best way to see this iconic landmark - MUCH better than hiking based tours. Nothing can be done about the long drives - the mountains are where they are - but this tour makes getting there and back special. ATV guides were proper professionals - only 5 of us on this trip, but still had one guide to lead and another to follow, so kept everyone well looked after and safe. And taking local motorbike courier to the top is definitely the best way - they are massively experienced on doing this trip (I felt more comfortable as a pillion passenger with them than any bike back home) and it saves on an exhausting climb to the top (at over 5,000m the tours with walking up options are HARD) - so you get to spend your time having fun on ATVs and enjoying the amazing views…
Special mention for going the extra mile - one of our party didn’t want to ride down (bit nervous) so they let her ride tandem with a friend and sorted out getting her ATV back no problem.

ATVs to Rainbow Mt. - The ATV riding was amazing. I didn't feel like doing anymore hiking since I just got back from the Inca Trail. This was perfect. I was able to get some great shots of the Rainbow Mt even though it was cloudy. The clouds moved away at times so we could take some quality pics. The only thing that I wished was that the bus ride wasn't as long. Obviously, nothing could be done about this considering the mountain is where it's at, but def a must see.

Great and fun experience! - It was a wonderful and really fun day! The pick up was easy, the drive comfortable and everything was very good organized. The lunch was delicious and it had many different options! Definitely would recommend!

The most fun I had despite my altitude sickness! - We spent 9 days in Peru - toured Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, Humantay Lake - all of them stunning and unforgettable. But I have to say that THIS ATV tour to Rainbow Mountain was the most fun and remarkable experience my 18yo daughter and I had in Peru. Arturo and his staff are great - super professional and will take good care of you. I had really bad altitude sickness so taking the ATV to Rainbow Mountain was perfect. You can take the ATV up to a certain point. Then the roads get narrower so you can either hike rest of the way, or you can rent a horse or have someone take you up on motorbike. If you're suffering from altitude sickness like I was, you want to take that motorbike. You'll reach Rainbow Mountain in 10 minutes v. 30 min by horse. Rainbow Mountain is probably the highest elevation you'll go to - it's 16,000 feet/5000 meters above sea level. So every step felt like a struggle for me. Arturo knew about my altitude sickness. He checked in on me regularly and at one point gave me some oxygen so that I could feel less dizzy. Overall, this was just a great experience.
You do stop on the way to this place for breakfast and lunch. Seems like a spot that all the tours stop at for food and restroom break. I didn't particularly care for the food but that may be because of my altitude sickness.

Good value for money - A magical immersion into the vistas of the Rainbow Mountain Peru with Arturo our guide. he was genuinely passionate in sharing his knowledge about the place and local traditions. The views were incredibly rewarding. the best thing, we did not have to hike as we were able to get closer to the summit with our Quad Bikes. Highly recommend this tour for anyone who are willing to experience the beauty of the Rainbow Mountain without hiking a bit.

A funfilled and informative day tour with Arturo - A trip to remember. We did this after realising the trekking would not be our thing and it was a perfect thing we did. This tour was fun and interesting in its own way Inka Explorer was very nice and the guide, Arturo was simply amazing. I can totally recommend the tour and the company, especially Arturo if you are like us - want to visit the Rainbow Mountain in an easier way.

See Rainbow Mtn but choose carefully - 5 stars for Rainbow Mtn but be cautious using this provider. ATV were in good condition but departed at 3 am (got a call at 2:30 am to be early “ready in 15 min” but they showed up late after causing panic to hurry). Decent meals provided. Paid for hotel drop off but they decided to drive past and drop our family a mile away in the heavy rain (just told everyone they had to get off at a central point). If you’re after quality it may not be this service.
