Cusco - Tinqui - Upis
Nevado Ausangate - The guide will meet participants in Cusco early in the morning and provide private transportation to Tinke, where there will be a stop to purchase any last-minute items and enjoy breakfast. The journey continues to Rondoca, the starting point of the trek. Here, the trekking team, including the cook and horse driver, will be introduced. The hike begins with a 2-hour trek to the lunch spot, offering views of the Apu Ausangate mountain. After lunch, the hike continues to the first campsite. This day involves a short hike to the village of Upis, where participants can relax in the hot springs, enjoy coca tea, and unwind until dinner.

Upis - Arapa Pass - Puca Qocha - Ausangate Qocha
Nevado Ausangate - The team will wake participants with hot coca tea. After a hearty breakfast, the hike begins, crossing the Arapa pass (4,850 meters/ 15,908 feet). The trek continues for 2½ hours down the valley, passing the green lake of Puqa Q’ocha to reach the turquoise Lake Jatun Puqa Q’ocha. Lunch is enjoyed at the lake’s edge with breathtaking views of Ausangate Mountain. After exploring and capturing photos, the hike ascends to the second pass of Apacheta (4,980 meters/ 16,338 feet), with a stunning turquoise blue lagoon below, fed by Ausangate’s melting snow. After taking in the view, the descent to Ausangate Qocha takes about 1 hour, where the second night is spent camping.

Ausangate Qocha - Palomani Pass - Sorapata
Nevado Ausangate - On this day, the trek reaches its highest pass. After breakfast, the ascent to Palomani pass at 5,200 meters (17,060 ft) takes about 2 hours. Here, the guide will conduct a ceremony for Apu Ausangate, allowing participants to feel the deity’s energy. The descent takes about an hour to Uchuy Phinaya for lunch. In the afternoon, a couple of hours of hiking leads to the next campsite.

Nevado Ausangate - With only one pass to cross, the day is spent enjoying the deep blue lagoons and alpine glacial-colored lakes. Brave participants can take a dip to cool off. The massive Ausangate mountain remains visible, offering new perspectives along with views of Pacchanta Valley. The goal is to reach the hot springs of Pacchanta for a relaxing soak and views of Ausangate Mountain.

Aguas Termales Pacchanta - After completing the hike around Ausangate Mountain, the day begins with breakfast followed by a ceremony where a local family shares their traditions, including preparing local food, cultural insights, and weaving techniques. Afterward, a bus ride returns participants to Cusco.
