Cusco - Ausangate - Upis - Hot Springs

Nevado Ausangate - Guests are picked up from their hotel at 5:00 am for a journey of approximately 2 and ½ hours to Tinki, a quaint village where there is a brief opportunity to purchase any forgotten items. The journey continues for another 30 minutes to Upis, the starting point of the hike. The majestic Ausangate mountain greets visitors, with an initial 2-hour uphill trek leading to the first pass, ARAPA (4640 m.s.n.m.), offering a close encounter with the sacred Ausangate. The descent reveals beautiful lagoons and occasionally wild Vicuñas along the trail. After an additional 3 hours of hiking, the first night is spent resting at Hatun Pucacocha.

Upis - Ausangate Pampa - Ausangate Pass - Uqui

Nevado Ausangate - Following a nutritious breakfast, the trek continues with the challenge of reaching the second pass at 4990 meters (Chillca Apacheta). This trail provides breathtaking views of the towering Ausangate and the lakes below, with increasing altitude and decreasing oxygen. After a 2-hour uphill hike, the pass is reached, where a ceremony is held to honor the mountain spirits. The descent leads to the second campsite at Ananta Pata.

Auqui - Rainbow Mountain - Cusco

Vinicunca Mountain - The trek resumes early in the morning, with a 1 and ½ hour hike to the third pass (Warmisaya), where the final destination, “RAINBOW MOUNTAIN,” is visible. Another 1 and ½ hour walk leads to this stunning location, arriving early to capture the best photographs before other groups. The descent to Kayrawiri follows, where transportation awaits to return guests to Cusco by 5 pm.
