Knowledge about cacao makes it taste better! - I learned a great deal from Gabriel about the cacao fruit pods and the process in which we all get a delicious chocolate bar. It was a dynamic one-person show taking us through the many uses of the cacao bean, even the utilization of the shells into a drink. I highly recommend it!

Lots of fun making our own creations - We came with a group of friends, and had an absolute marvelous time! We all gathered around a long bar and worked as a geoup. The instructor was really fun and taught us a lot about the different chocolates. Making our own creations was not only fun, but tasty as well! Highly recommend.

What a fun way to learn about chocolate - This was a super fun experience mostly because of our host. He made sure we were laughing most of the time. A great way to bond a team or friends. The chocolate was great too. Highly recommend.

Fun side activity - It was fun, but overran on time and we had to go back the next day to pick up the chocolates we'd put into moulds. We got to make and try cacao beans, roast them, try the nibs, grind them into chocolate liquor, and made/tried two kinds of chocolate drink and cacao shell tea. Enjoyed it, and learnt more about chocolate, but the timing could have been managed better, especially by pouring our chocolates at the beginning so they'd be ready to take with us at the end instead of returning (which can be difficult when busy traveling)

Abysmal experience and lack of respect for the Inca culture - A disappointing and offensive experience. We visited this place in Cusco expecting to learn about cocoa and its relationship with Andean culture, but from the beginning everything was purposeless. On their website they mention that “...you’ll experience what the Maya offered to the gods...”, seriously confusing Mayan culture with Inca culture. How is it possible to make such a basic mistake in a city as emblematic as Cusco, heart of the Inca legacy? But the worst was not just cultural ignorance. Upon arrival, the reception staff was rude and selfless. We were moved to the chocolate workshop, giving obvious preference to foreign tourists, as if our time and experience were worth less. When we claimed, they told us — literally — that we were “taking a lot of their time.” Not an apology. We requested the return of our money and they were not even able to give us a voucher, not a mail, not a ticket. Just your word. Is this how they treat visitors who trust their services? Cusco deserves spaces that respect its history and that value all visitors equally. Unfortunately, this place is not one of them. We do not recommend it under any circumstances.
