Coricancha - A company representative will be ready to greet you upon your arrival in Cusco at the airport and escort you to your hotel. The morning is free for leisure. The city tour starts at 2:00 p.m. with a hotel pick-up. The first stop is the Temple of the Sun, or Qoricancha, an indigenous religious sanctuary. Here, you will admire the Incas’ exquisite lithic technology, showcasing precise stone cutting that remains stable despite earthquakes.
Sacsayhuaman - Following the visit to Qoricancha, a bus will take us to Sacsayhuaman, located 3 km from Cusco. Sacsayhuaman offers a panoramic view of Cusco and features massive limestone blocks weighing between 25 and 130 tons, arranged in three zigzagging terraces.
Jirón Qenqo - Next, we visit Qenqo, meaning labyrinth, situated 1 km from Sacsayhuaman. This site, built from limestone rock, features stone sculptures over 500 m2 and structures believed to have been used for astronomical, religious, and embalming purposes.
Pucapucara - We then explore Puca Pucara, derived from Quechua words meaning “red fortress.” This strategic location was used for monitoring access to and from the Imperial city of Cusco, serving as a territorial boundary.
Tambomachay - Finally, we visit Tambomachay, known as the Inca Baths for its water sources, or the waters of eternal youth due to its constant flow. Located 9 km from Cusco, it offers a glimpse of the Inca trail to Machu Picchu. The city tour concludes around 6:30 p.m.
