Mollepata - Once the group is ready the great adventure will start in the direction of the Humantay Lake. You travel by car for 2 hours approx in our tourist transport until arriving in the community of Mollepata. Here, you enjoy a delicious breakfast before continuing with the tour.
Continuing the Humantay Lake Tour, The car leaves the main road to take the dirt road for 1 hour more. During the trip, you can observe beautiful landscapes, canyons, cloud forest, and beautiful glaciers as The Salkantay Glacier (The second biggest glacier of Cusco region). -
Humantay Lake - Once you arrive at the final stop for the van, the group start hiking for 1.5 hours more approx. The time is an average and It depends on sure of your speed but no worries you will hike at your rhythm. The hike is a little bit more step than the Rainbow Mountain Tour, so try to have many stops in order to don’t get tired easily.
Upon reaching the incredible Humantay turquoise Lake, All the group will have the information from the Tour Guide and free time to explore more the place, an approximate 40 minutes will remain before to get back to the parking.
END OF THE TOUR
After 1 hour you get lunch in the same restaurant than in the morning. As the hike demands a lot of effort, the lunch is Buffet in order to recover all the energy lost in the hike.
Ending the Humantay Lake Tour, you return to Cusco city arriving at 5:00 pm approx., where our transport will take you to the city center or if it’s a Private Service to your respective hotel.

Worth it to go private - Amazing! Our guide Rafael was wonderful. Rafael had a fabulous attitude and good English. I got a little car sick on the curvy mountain road and probably wouldn’t have made it up the mountain without him. The pick up time may seem early but 4am pickup coupled with a great driver got us there before the crowds.

All on time and good communication - Very well taken care of by July, always taking care of the group and seeing that nothing will be missing. Communicated with us in time and picked us up as we met, clean van and driver very well

Amazing experience! 100% recommended - The tour was amazing! Our guide was Rafael, who was very friendly and was always very attentive that we were all okay, took pictures of us, and explained everything related to the region and the lagoon. Our driver was Jaime who handled super well, despite being a difficult road, you can tell he has a lot of experience. In addition we managed to reach all the places at the best time, before all the other groups arrived.
As for the hike, the climb is intense, but everyone could go at their own pace and make all the breaks they needed. In addition there are also horses to climb the hardest part. It is 100% worth it, the lagoon and the view of the snowfall are amazing. I would only recommend not going on the first day that you arrive in Cusco, because of the altitude. Ideally, you should spend some time acclimatising yourself without intense exercise, like taking the Sacred Valley tour.

Not completely satisfied. - The experience was good, I’m giving it three stars because:
1. the entrance fee is not included. It’s 20 soles per person, yes it is not much, it’s about $ 5.00. I have booked other activities in other countries where the entrance is already included
2. The breakfast was great, but lunch doesn’t include water, I feel that water should at least be included.
3. We stayed in Urubamba, we had to pay an extra $90.00 dollars to get picked up from Urubamba.
4. You have to pay an extra 80 soles, about $ 21 dollars to rent the horse to take you up the hill each way!!! ( I recommend it). This should be included or buy it as an option in this package.
Total: I ended up paying an extra $ 73. 00 per person top of the 110.00 for the package. Not including the tip. Our your guide was great!
