Mollepata - Once the group is ready the great adventure will start in the direction of the Humantay Lake. You travel by car for 2 hours approx in our tourist transport until arriving in the community of Mollepata. Here, you enjoy a delicious breakfast before continuing with the tour.
Continuing the Humantay Lake Tour, The car leaves the main road to take the dirt road for 1 hour more. During the trip, you can observe beautiful landscapes, canyons, cloud forest, and beautiful glaciers as The Salkantay Glacier (The second biggest glacier of Cusco region). -
Humantay Lake - Once you arrive at the final stop for the van, the group start hiking for 1.5 hours more approx. The time is an average and It depends on sure of your speed but no worries you will hike at your rhythm. The hike is a little bit more step than the Rainbow Mountain Tour, so try to have many stops in order to don’t get tired easily.
Upon reaching the incredible Humantay turquoise Lake, All the group will have the information from the Tour Guide and free time to explore more the place, an approximate 40 minutes will remain before to get back to the parking.
END OF THE TOUR
After 1 hour you get lunch in the same restaurant than in the morning. As the hike demands a lot of effort, the lunch is Buffet in order to recover all the energy lost in the hike.
Ending the Humantay Lake Tour, you return to Cusco city arriving at 5:00 pm approx., where our transport will take you to the city center or if it’s a Private Service to your respective hotel.

Incredible Humantay Lake Tour with Carlos — Highly Recommend Kantu Tours! - Our private Humantay Lake tour with Carlos was one of the highlights of our entire trip to Peru. He was kind, knowledgeable, and so genuine — the kind of guide who truly cares about both the people and the place. He helped me pick up trash along the trail to keep the mountain pristine and took some of the most beautiful photos I’ve ever had taken on a hike. The views were breathtaking, and Carlos made the experience feel effortless and meaningful. I highly recommend Kantu Tours and especially Carlos if you want a guide who goes above and beyond!

They made me feel very calm throughout the trip - We did several tours with Kantu tours, Machupichu, Humantay, 7 colors, among others.
It was a very pleasant experience, they were very punctual with the agreed schedules, attached to the itinerary, attentive and friendly guides who gave us valuable information in each. Most importantly, the whole journey since our arrival accompanied us with messages and reminders of what we would do the next day.
I highly recommend them.

Highly recommended: attention, food and friendliness - Service was excellent. We were a group of deaf people and the tour guide, Mr. Rafael, was very friendly throughout the trip. We communicate in writing without any problems. Also, breakfast and lunch were delicious, everything was very well organized. We highly recommend this Service, you will not regret it! Worth it to go private - Amazing! Our guide Rafael was wonderful. Rafael had a fabulous attitude and good English. I got a little car sick on the curvy mountain road and probably wouldn’t have made it up the mountain without him. The pick up time may seem early but 4am pickup coupled with a great driver got us there before the crowds.

Amazing experience! 100% recommended - The tour was amazing! Our guide was Rafael, who was very friendly and was always very attentive that we were all okay, took pictures of us, and explained everything related to the region and the lagoon. Our driver was Jaime who handled super well, despite being a difficult road, you can tell he has a lot of experience. In addition we managed to reach all the places at the best time, before all the other groups arrived.
As for the hike, the climb is intense, but everyone could go at their own pace and make all the breaks they needed. In addition there are also horses to climb the hardest part. It is 100% worth it, the lagoon and the view of the snowfall are amazing. I would only recommend not going on the first day that you arrive in Cusco, because of the altitude. Ideally, you should spend some time acclimatising yourself without intense exercise, like taking the Sacred Valley tour.
