- Humantay Lake - The journey begins with a trip to the town of Mollepata, where breakfast will be provided. Following this, the group will proceed to Soraypampa (at an altitude of 3850m), which serves as the campsite for the first day of the renowned Salkantay trek to Machu Picchu. - Humantay Lake - The journey begins with a trip to the town of Mollepata, where breakfast will be provided. Following this, the group will proceed to Soraypampa (at an altitude of 3850m), which serves as the campsite for the first day of the renowned Salkantay trek to Machu Picchu. The hike to Humantay Lake (at an altitude of 4200m) will then commence, offering breathtaking views and, if the weather permits, a glimpse of the majestic ‘Apus’ (‘spirits of the mountains’) Salkantay and Humantay. The trek to the lake takes about 1.5 hours and is moderately challenging due to the altitude and steep climb, but the stunning natural beauty upon arrival is well worth the effort. For those who prefer not to hike, horse rentals are available.
- SORAYPAMPA - Horse rentals are available for those who prefer not to hike. Upon reaching the lagoon, there will be ample time for photography, making offerings to the Apus, and for the adventurous, a swim in the lake if the sun is shining! After enjoying some free time and relaxation, the descent to Soraypampa will begin, taking approximately 1.5 hours and being significantly easier than the ascent. In Soraypampa, lunch will be served, followed by a period of rest before the return journey to Cusco, with an estimated arrival time of 6pm.
