CUSCO – CACHORA – SANTA ROSA BAJA
Cusco - The adventure begins with a pickup between 5:30 and 6:00 am. After a scenic 4-hour drive, the journey reaches the community of Cachora and then Capulliyoq (2,890 m / 9,482 feet), offering a stunning view of the snow-capped Padreyoq mountain (5,771 m / 18,930 feet) and the Apurímac Canyon, the world’s second deepest canyon. A descent of about two and a half hours leads to Chikiska (1,900 m / 6,234 feet), where a delightful lunch awaits. After a refreshing pause, the trek continues down to the bridge at Rosalina Beach, the lowest point of the trek (1,550 m / 5,085 feet). A 3-hour ascent follows to the first campsite, Santa Rosa Baja, where tents are set up and the cooking team prepares dinner.
SANTA ROSA BAJA – MARAMPATA – CHOQUEQUIRAO
Choquequirao - The day starts at 5:00 a.m. with a nutritious breakfast to fuel the day’s hike. At 6:00 a.m., the ascent begins, reaching Marampata (2,870 m / 9,416 ft) after 2.5 hours. From there, a 2-hour walk leads to the Choquequirao Inca citadel, where the main sectors of this Inca stronghold can be explored. After lunch within Choquequirao, exploration of the citadel continues. Following a full day at Choquequirao, the return to Marampata includes a delicious dinner and an overnight stay in tents.
MARAMPATA – CHIKISKA – COCAMASANA
COCAMASANA – CAPULLIYOQ – CUSCO
Cusco - At 6:00 a.m., after breakfast, the final physical challenge is a 3-hour climb back to the Capuliyoq Pass, where a bus awaits to transport everyone to Cusco. After a 4.5-hour drive, arrival in Cusco is at Plaza San Francisco, just two blocks from the main square.
