Day 1: Cusco to Hydroelectric Transfer
Machu Picchu - Cusco, Peru
Pass by: Centro Historico de Cusco, Cuzco 08002 Peru. The meeting point is in the main square of Cusco between 6:50 and 7:10 am. Once the group is complete, we will travel by van for approximately 7 hours to the town of Hydroelectric. Here, there will be time for lunch. Afterwards, we will walk for about 2.5 hours to reach Aguas Calientes (this tour does not include a guide, as tourists walk near the railway and there is no risk of losing the path). Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, also known as Machupicchu Pueblo, we will check into our accommodation and later have dinner. The guide will contact us to provide instructions for the visit to the Sanctuary of Machupicchu the following day.
Day 2: Visit to the Sanctuary of Machupicchu
Machu Picchu - Pick up from your hotel between 7:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. We will board a van that will take us to the hydroelectric, with a stop along the way for an included lunch. Arrival at the hydroelectric is around 2:00 pm. We will then walk along the train tracks for 2 to 2.5 hours to Aguas Calientes, where the guide will meet us and take us to our accommodation. An instructional meeting with the guide will follow, and dinner is included.
Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, Peru
We will rise early, and the hotel manager will provide a snack before we begin our walk, which takes about an hour and a half, to the Machu Picchu sanctuary. The guided tour of this World Wonder lasts approximately 2 hours. Afterwards, there will be time to explore and capture stunning photographs.
Around 10:50 am, we will need to descend from the Sanctuary of Machupicchu directly to Hydroelectric. Upon arrival, lunch is optional or at our own expense.
Between 2:30 and 2:45 pm, our vehicle will be ready, and our driver will call us by name to board the van and return to the city of Cusco.
The arrival in Cusco is expected between 9:30 and 10:00 pm, where our driver will take us to San Francisco Square or Rejoicing Square, marking the end of the tour.
