Amazing tour, beautiful, the views leave you breathless - I did this tour with my mom and we both loved it! Both our guide J ENkins who picked us up at the door DE the hotel and driver Eddy were very friendly, Jenkins shared a lot of history, he had a lot of patience waiting for us when we took pictures, the amazing views took my breath away, let us meet families who are dedicated to the creation of textiles and we were able to buy many souvenirs without any pressure or rush, I highly recommend it! They will have NO regrets šŸ«¶šŸ»ā˜ŗļø

Great day to make us discover something other than ruins! - Great Guide. Good driver. They were very nice. Beautiful cultural tour to discover how wool here is treated and colored. Bonus dance show. We had time to visit the sites and all our questions were answered.

Fascinating - Willy was an excellent guide. He taught us so much on this half day excursion to Las Salineras de Maras & Moray. My kids were fascinated and really enjoyed the experience.

Good trip - Moray is an amazing place to visit. No doubt the Inkas were uber smart. The Salt mines were quite interesting. You even get a small bag of salt with your entry fee.

Review: Maras Moray Half-Day Tour with Michael Flores (Alpaca Expeditions) - We recently took the half-day tour to Maras and Moray with Alpaca Expeditions, guided by Michael Flores. Overall, the experience was interesting and informative. Michael did a great job explaining the historical significance of the sites, particularly the Inca agricultural terraces at Moray and the salt ponds of Maras. His knowledge of the salt harvesting process added depth to the visit, and we appreciated his effort to share cultural insights throughout the day. After touring the salt flats, Michael brought us to a local shop that sold salt products and artisanal chocolates. It was an excellent opportunity to support local vendors and purchase some unique, locally made souvenirs. Unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed by a disappointing visit to a textile store. Based on Michael’s recommendation, we trusted that the products sold there were authentic and made from genuine alpaca fiber. The women at the shop gave a thorough and engaging demonstration of the traditional weaving and dyeing process, which was informative and enjoyable. However, after purchasing a textile item, we later discovered it was made from synthetic fibers, not real alpaca wool as claimed. This felt like a betrayal of trust—not just from the store, but from our guide, who brought us there under the assurance of authenticity. It seemed like a tourist trap, more concerned with profit than cultural integrity. Sadly, this took away from what was otherwise a meaningful experience. Tip to future travelers: Enjoy the beauty and history of Maras and Moray, but be cautious when purchasing textiles, even from shops recommended by guides. Ask specific questions about fiber authenticity and verify them, if possible, before making a purchase.

Recommend - Felt the Moray was a bit pricey but I loved the salt mines! The tour guide was very knowledgeable. I’d skip the Moray in hindsight and just do the salt mines

Very nice tour if you’re short on time but want to visit Maras and Maray - Very good tour. Would be nice to have more than 15-20min at Maras and Moray. In addition to Maras and Moray, we visited Chinchero village and one store on the way to the salt mines. Maybe if we didn’t have those stops, we could spend more time at Maras and Moray. Also, the store had the same items that the store at Maras itself has and slightly cheaper.

Stop on Tour Not in Description - The below review I originally submitted a few days prior - I gave them a 3 star review. I am updating this to say that Kantu Peru Tours sent me a message today offering to refund my money if I give them a better review. So I am now giving them only 2 stars for trying to buy a better review from me. Original review: This trip description does not say anywhere that the first stop is Chicheros. You get like a 5-10 minute weaving lecture, then they want you to buy stuff from their store. This was not something I was interested in, and would have rather had that extra time in Moray. We got maybe 10 minutes of free time there after the tour, and that Chincheros stop time could have been better used giving us actual time to explore Moray on our own. The time we had on our own was literally just enough time to walk to the bathroom and back to the bus.
