FIVE STAR Service, delivered beyond our expectations and created memories to last a lifetime. - We booked our tour with Apu Ausangate in August for January of 2025. The owner Mr. Julio is amazing, his attention to detail, communication from the day we inquired to the day we said goodbye to him in Cusco was over the top. He and his wife were tour guides in the past and have now opened their own business. We started our trip by visiting the sacred valley with the driver Juan Carlos and our guide John. They wanted to make sure we got the best of the day and arranged the itinerary where we were not with many big tour busses and get over-run by people. They ensured we knew what fair pricing was in the markets, so we were not taken advantage off as tourists. We had lunch at this amazing restaurant where we sampled a lot of the traditional Peruvian food. We continued our journey to Agua Calientes by the Expedition train where we said goodbye to Juan Carlos our driver. Our Guide John ensured we got on the train and then when we got off in Agua Calientes he was waiting for us at the train station. It was pretty late; we had met a lady on the train who seemed lost, and we asked John to assist her and without any reservations he helped her find her hotel and walked her to her hotel - great service We were hosted at the Susanna Inn, which is a very clean and beautiful hotel, breakfast was outstanding, staff was courteous and friendly, views of the raging waters were phenomenal from your room as well as the breakfast area. The owner who is an older lady welcomes all of her guests and asks how everything is. Not speaking Spanish I was fortunate that we communicated with Google translate. The following day John came to pick us up for our tour to Machu Pichu. We had requested Julio, owner to book us on circuit 2 however not realizing that it would be hard for my husband to climb the steep hills I asked John to change to circuit 3. John let me know that he had bought (2) trekking sticks for my husband and we will attempt circuit 2 and if he is not able then we shall decide. John was the most patient, kind and understanding guide I have come across. He assisted every step of the way, lent his shoulder for support - Thank you John for your hospitality. On our return it was pouring rain and Mr. Julio, and his wife personally came to pick up and drop us at the hotel. I cannot say how amazed I was as in the USA we are not used to this kind of hospitality unless you are staying or touring with a five-star organization. I have traveled the world, and I can say Apu Ausangate delivered five-star service to us from start to finish. Usually, I do not write reviews however I was compelled to write a review for this company as they delivered far beyond our expectations, created memories that will last a lifetime and Kudos to them. Wishing them all the success in their business and I sincerely hope people give them an opportunity, book with them and they thrive in their business. Thank you again to Julio and John for this amazing experience. Hope to see you again sometime in the near future.

highly recommend - We arrived in Cusco without any specific plans and, by chance, chose the first tour available with this company. Since then, we have used their services for all our tours. Their professionalism in organizing the trips, timely pickups, the comfort of the bus, and the knowledgeable guide with excellent English skills made our experience thoroughly enjoyable. Above all, their personal attention to our needs stood out, particularly when a train delay caused us to return at midnight, and they personally ensured our transfer back to the hotel. I highly recommend this company; a quality tour experience is assured.

This guy is amazing… any tour with him would be great - As a seasoned world traveler of over 30 years, I’ve learned that choosing the right excursion guide can make or break the experience. Money matters, but the guide is essential for ensuring the best adventure. Recently, I embarked on a 4-day hike with Julio, and his impact was profound. Julio stands out as the best guide I’ve encountered across my global travels. Fluent, empathetic, educated, and passionate, he hails from the highlands of Peru. His storytelling skills bring the country’s culture and history to life. After just four days together, I consider him a kindred spirit.

10/10 Recommend - thanks Julio! - This private tour with Julio as my guide was amazing. Everything worked out perfectly, he was so helpful with the preparation and throughout the process, had everything figured out (tickets/time-schedule etc.) which made the whole day so easy and fun. Julio explained the fascinating history of Machu Picchu and pointed out all the interesting spots throughout the tour. In addition to learning a lot about Machu Picchu we also had great conversations about Peru and the Peruvian way of life. All in all I had the best day and am very thankful to have had Julio as my guide. Can 100 % recommend to anyone wanting to explore Machu Picchu in a day!

Awesome Trip - We'll start by saying that this trip was excellent! Our guide was Mr. Julio and he facilitated this excursion for us. The reality is that we left the tickets for Machu Picchu at the last minute. We thought we had no choice but to miss the trip but we found Julio and he helped us. Since all-day Machu Picchu entry tickets are sold about 1 month in advance, the only other way to get in is to buy tickets the day before the early morning entry. And you have to make sure you are one of the first in line to buy one of those tickets. This after getting on the train to get to Aguas Calientes...etc. Well it sounded a little complicated but Julio assured us that everything was already planned. So it was! From the second they picked us up at our hotel in Cusco until returning us back to the hotel, everything was very coordinated. We didn't have to worry about anything. He made it possible for us to enjoy Machu Picchu to the fullest. We had a beautiful cloudless day at 10 am. We could see everything clearly. Our guide Wilmar gave us a lot of information and history about any questions we had about Machu Picchu. He was patient with us and went at our pace (there are sections more difficult than others). We used circuit 1 and we could see everything. Machu Picchu was an unforgettable experience. Julio was very attentive to us and helped us with any concerns we had. Thanks for the gifts Julio! We recommend Apu Ausangate Trails and Julio as a guide.
