- Cusco - Begin the adventure early in the morning with a hotel pick-up in Cusco. From there, travel through the stunning Andean landscape to the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
- Chinchero - The journey starts with a visit to the charming village of Chinchero, known as the city of the rainbow. Here, explore the Church of Our Lady of Monserrat, built in 1607 on the palace of Tupac Yupanqui, along with the terraced fields and its artisan market.
The market is a vibrant display of color and movement, captivating tourists with its array of handicrafts and textile garments crafted in the authentic pre-Columbian style.
- Moray - Located 7 km from Maras, about an hour from Cusco via the Chinchero route, Moray is a spectacular site featuring circular terraces of varying sizes. These terraces were used for agricultural experimentation and are considered a magnetic center of Pachamamaâs feminine energy (Only Tour VIP).
Entrance fee not included (70 soles).
- Salinas de Maras - Continue the tour by visiting the town of Maras and the agricultural experimentation terraces of Moray. It is believed that in this intriguing area, the Incas created their own micro-climate to adapt plants, flowers, and various other products from different parts of the Inca empire. Following this, visit the salt mines âsalinerasâ located just below Maras. These mines are still operational, with local peasants working there during the day (Only VIP Tour).
- Urubamba - At the end of the tour, return to private transportation and head to the town of Urubamba for a buffet lunch, offering a taste of delicious Peruvian cuisine.
This area is renowned for Inca agricultural production, especially corn, and today it is a beautiful countryside with abundant fruit tree production. Itâs an excellent spot to enjoy a buffet lunch typical of the region.
- Ollantaytambo - In the afternoon, visit the Fortress of Ollantaytambo, a strategic military, agricultural, and religious center used to manage and control the Sacred Valley of the Incas. This is inferred from the structures believed to have been used for agricultural storage and military purposes, such as walls and watchtowers (likely for protection against jungle ethnic groups).
This archaeological site features a series of superimposed terraces, showcasing impressive large blocks of finely carved stone on the upper terrace. The final stop is the city of Pisac.
- Pisac - Located 33 km from Cusco via a paved road from the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Pisac is famous for its handicraft market and remarkable archaeological site. Wander through the market to purchase local crafts, then explore the ruins of Pisac, with its agricultural terraces and breathtaking valley views.
- Cusco - After a day filled with exploration and discovery, the tour concludes with a return to the hotel in Cusco, arriving in the afternoon.
