Cusco - Transportation will collect guests from their hotel at 7:00 a.m. The journey will proceed towards the Málaga Pass, situated at 4,500 meters above sea level, marking the highest point of the trip. After about three hours of travel, the group will arrive at this enchanting location, where the guide will conduct a brief Inca ceremony before starting the downhill biking adventure. The descent will take approximately three hours, concluding at Huamanmarca, an archaeological site, around 1:30 p.m., where a delightful lunch will be served.
Following lunch, the adventure continues with rafting, where the Salkantay and Urubamba rivers converge to form the mighty Vilcanota River. Participants will navigate Class III and IV rapids, ensuring a unique and unforgettable experience. The day concludes in Santa María, where guests will stay overnight in a charming tourist lodge.
Trek from Santa María to Santa Teresa (Capsule Hotel)
Banos Termales de Cocalmayo - The hike towards Santa Teresa begins. The first two hours involve a steady ascent, surrounded by lush vegetation and breathtaking views of the Salkantay snow-capped peak and the Santa Teresa Valley. Along the route, there will be several rest stops where the guide will discuss the local flora and fauna, more than 1,000 meters above the river in the heart of the jungle.
The trek then descends along the Inca Trail to Quellomayo, where lunch will be enjoyed by the river, followed by a short rest.
The journey continues with another two-hour hike to the Cocalmayo hot springs, and then onward to the capsule hotel perched on the mountainside. This unique accommodation in Santa Teresa features glass domes hanging from a cliff over 500 meters above the river. This offers a truly unparalleled experience, sleeping in a mountain capsule with all modern comforts while gazing at the Milky Way from the comfort of your bed.
SANTA TERESA – AGUAS CALIENTES
Aguas Calientes - The day starts with a traditional local breakfast on the terrace of the Capsule Dome Restaurant. Guests will then partake in thrilling adventure activities, including crossing the Tibetan (suspension) bridge, which is over 150 meters long and 200 meters above the ground, followed by zip-lining or canopy tours, all under the supervision of experienced mountain guides.
After this exhilarating experience, transportation will take guests to the Hydroelectric Station, a journey of about one hour, arriving around 12:00 p.m. for lunch. The journey continues with a hike to Aguas Calientes, lasting approximately three hours, arriving in the picturesque town around 5:30 p.m., where dinner and comfortable accommodations await.
Machu Picchu Guided Visit – Return to Cusco by Train
Aguas Calientes - This is the day everyone has been eagerly anticipating: the visit to the magnificent Machu Picchu sanctuary. Early in the morning, guests will travel from Aguas Calientes to the entrance of Machu Picchu to witness the sunrise over the Inca citadel.
During the visit, a professional guide will accompany guests, providing insights into the history, architecture, and mysteries of this extraordinary UNESCO World Heritage Site. The guided tour lasts about 2 hours and includes the main viewpoints, temples, and ceremonial areas.
After the guided tour, guests will return to the town of Aguas Calientes. Later, they will board the train for a scenic return journey to Ollantaytambo, followed by transportation back to Cusco, where the tour concludes.
