10/10 would recommend!! - We booked this excursion at the last minute, expecting it to be declined or cancelled, but to our surprise, we were contacted shortly after to provide our pickup information. Our guide, Wilfredo, picked us up on time and was very communicative throughout the whole process. Wilfredo was a great guide who was very knowledgeable and made the whole experience comfortable and enjoyable. The hike from the parking area to the mountain is challenging but definitely worth it. Make sure to bring water, snacks, and take breaks to catch your breath. We would recommend this excursion to anyone who is interested and thinking about doing it. 10/10 would recommend! Thank you again, Wilfredo!

We had a great visit to... - We had a great visit to Rainbow Mountain with Alberto and Disbon - highly recommend working with them. The drive there was v challenging but Disbon was a great, aggressive and safe driver! Likewise the hike was challenging but the view was sensational from the summit. Alberto our tour guide was very informative and answered all our Qs. He was also v patient w our slow pace of hiking. Great guide and experience!

Incredible Private Tour to Rainbow Mountain – Highly Recommend! - We booked a private tour to Rainbow Mountain to ensure we’d be back in Cusco in time for our 7pm flight, and the experience exceeded all expectations. The company was incredibly flexible and arranged a 4am hotel pickup to give us plenty of time. We were promptly greeted at our hotel and given cozy blankets for the 3-hour drive, which made the early morning start much more comfortable.
Our first stop was a quaint town where we enjoyed a quick and tasty breakfast buffet — a perfect way to fuel up before the hike. Be prepared: the elevation at Rainbow Mountain is intense. Thankfully, horses were available for a reasonable fee (make sure to bring local currency), and we opted to ride them on the way up, then hiked down to really take in the views.
One of the highlights of the tour was the unexpected visit to the Red Valley, which was absolutely stunning — I thought it was even more breathtaking than Rainbow Mountain itself.
We wrapped up with a delicious lunch back at the same restaurant from breakfast and made it back to Cusco by 2pm — plenty of time to relax before our evening flight. The whole experience was well-organized, thoughtful, and seamless. If you’re looking for a hassle-free and memorable way to visit Rainbow Mountain, this private tour is the way to go!

Stunning landscapes - Our guide, Robinson, was absolutely fantastic and made our trip truly memorable. Our driver Edwardo was also very nice and accommodating.
We found that booking a private tour was well worth the extra cost compared to the standard, more affordable options, especially since we highly value time and flexibility. We were able to leave around 4:45 AM after waking up a bit late, and there was no waiting around for anyone. Thanks to this personalised experience, we were back at our hotel by 3 PM, feeling satisfied and fulfilled.

Great hike, not easy but the experience was perfect! - Excellent trip. The information provided before the trip was very useful and should be followed. Wally was always available for any question before, during and even after. Very helpful during the hike. Personally I would definitely come back and hike with him. The breakfast and lunch were very good and was including Peruvian specialities.

Breathtaking - All I can say is what an experience, from minute one Wally was excellent, he outlined the plans for the day so the group knew what was expected and everything went so smoothly. Wally’s energy, experience and enthusiasm made this trip even more special, so I can’t thank him enough. He also spoke English and espanyol (obviously) which helped me massively being from the UK. The mountain it’s self is a special place and I would highly recommend doing this trip with Wally! Thanks again amigo adios.

No Need For a Private Tour to Rainbow Mountain - Visiting the Rainbow Mountain is really just a hike, and neither the hike nor the long drive are the type of outing that benefits from a private tour. You are likely better off booking a group one. Additionally, while both our driver and guide were friendly, their English was very limited, meaning that there really wasn't much insight provided.
The drive to Rainbow Mountain does not feel safe. You are high up on unpaved/barely paved roads, clinging to sides of mountains for much of it. Moreover, I don't think our driver was driving on these roads or taking these turns at a safe speed. At one point, we tried to pass a tour bus on one of these narrow, unpaved roads, to which I had to very firmly ask that he not, and just let the tour bus (which was going at an acceptable speed given the safety of the road) be. While he initially backed off, he then sped past the tour bus anyway. I don't think he or the guide understood enough English to grasp what I was asking, as the guide thought I was complaining about altitude headaches.
Re the hike itself, while my partner was fine, the high elevation (higher than Cusco) really affected me, making even slight inclines of the hike very strenuous.
The scenery is beautiful, even if most of the online pictures are edited/saturated. Just make sure to wear layers. It's especially cold on the final ascent.
Also, the restaurant after the hike is a somewhat rundown small town in the middle of nowhere, and it's just a buffet that other larger tour groups will also be at. I would have expected an actual sit-down place given that it was a private tour.

Go with someone else - They didn't show up as scheduled and waited 2 hours past the time of pick up to tell us they weren't coming. We had to get a taxi to take us. Wouldn't recommend
